This rebuild of the "Little Engine That Could" turned you into " The Little Museum That Did". Congratulations to all. I think you guys are now on the map!
It’s a crazy thought but what if the mill creek metro park would build a track in the park and run the 58 on it. They certainly would draw people to the park with such an attraction and what scenery. To hear that whistle and the rumbling on the tracks would be awesome!
That's quite the stack talk for such a little engine. Cant wait to see you guys get a good load behind her so we can really hear her bark! Also can't wait to see a replica of her original whistle be made.
That's a damn good "BARK" ! It's a great looking engine -shame it has to have the tank back on. Great Work YSH. (Over the "pond" and love the restoration series.) - now ENJOY IT !
You amazed me Rick when you rescued the giant beast in the early 2000's - you've amazed me more than you're still going and still achieving the most awesome things. I've not chatted since the old Stationary Engine List days and was very happy to accidentally come across one of the J&L58 videos and watched until I saw the loco move. Well done to you and your team. Paul
Brings back memories of Great Western Sugar 0-6-0T #16 that the Great Western Sugar company used to shunt sugar beet cars at the factory in Mitchell Nebraska when i was little
Admiration for you guys bringing loco back from what it was. The things you need like more track ,land, rolling stock, bigger tender and of cours e money will all come in time. Once you have a continuous run set up you can charge admission What gauge is it. Overseas query 🇦🇺🇦🇺🚂🚂🚞🇦🇺
"Hey Daddy? Can I go play with the Choo, choo!?" LOL Fascinating, the engineering on this thing and that original designers were able to do it with just slide rules, paper, etc. Went from "Rolling POS" to "Rolling Ingot"...
Hey congrats looks awesome! Need to shoot it in B&W and fade to color it would looks sweat. How is the sandel take coming? By the sound of it must has very low ratio for extra torq.
Great video!! Just a question, how do reversers work? All I see is the bar go up and down and when the rods start moving it forwards or backwards, so how does it work?
That's a really tight curve for an engine with that wheelbase, so it's going to scream like heck going around that curve, at least until it gets worn in for a good bit. Probably not all the noise is the flanges. Remember that the wheel tread is going to have to slide on one side of the engine or the other, and that will make some noise too.
Seeing how right of a curve your stock can go around, why not build a turn around loop, extend your property some if there are lots available and have a setup like that at Huckleberry Farms? I’ll donate for buying lands if it gets that accomplished
Not it's original tender, Rick and I made that up from an old coal bin that came from Wheeling-Labelle. This summer we will build a larger coal box with straight sides.
Complimenti sono rimasto molto entusiasto immagino il momento del collaudo ho già messo in prossima veduta dei piccoli spezzoni di filmati trovati su RU-vid grazie
You know I was thinking about that Coopersville Michigan would buy that from you Coopersville is a little town that has railroad tracks and they do old fashioned railroad rides so get ahold of Coopersville and Michigan
