...If your perspective is that the DNC leadership and longtime donors are working to make the country better. Seth provides a dumbed down version of the most bias "news" narrative of the moment. No offense, just saying this stuff might provide comic relief, but if you don't find yourself constantly saying "well that's not a realistic portrayal of that subject", then you're not varying your news sources nearly enough.

11:06 Quick thing: If Trump "tried to warn people", it not only confirms that the January 6 insurrection was a premeditated and planned event and not just a spur of the moment activity from an overstimulated crowd, it also shows that Trump had intimate knowledge of the coup beforehand and chose to let it happen. I love that Fox News' best defense is one that makes Trump sound even guiltier than he already did.

So Trumps guilty for telling people to march peacefully and patriotically to the capitol? Can’t wait until democrats are humiliated out of power in November because then the real investigation into Jan 6 can begin. We can find out what Pelosi knew and when and why she and the governor of DC refused to let Trump bring in national guard days before like he wanted, why the request for more security was denied multiple times. Pelosi doesn’t want to release footage from inside the capitol. Why? We have every right to see it. We’ve all seen the videos of police waving protesters in past the barricades and letting them into the capitol so why is she so terrified? She’s gonna be out of power and out of congress soon anyway

Yes. Yes. Yes. I'm supposed to start 2022 by going home to the UK. Already, first time home since Brexit... which I voted against. And today's news: 88,000+ new Covid infections yesterday, a pandemic record; 'guidelines' instead of enforced restrictions (Scotland has legally enforceable restrictions, but I'll be flying through London); and FRANCE has banned all but emergency travel between the two countries. Those are just the headlines. I feel like a tumbleweed, just blowing in the wind, with a tornado brewing. Now I have to digest the news without my follow up dose of humour. That's almost worse news!!

Respectfully disagree. Seth regularly puts "period" type stops in his voice when he's reading the cue cards and gets to the end of a line, or perhaps the end of a card. That and pausing to take a breath in the middle of a sentence without a natural pause point (e.g. 0:30 "who always look like they [breath] just walked in on their parents having sex").

I prefer Seth’s delivery. It’s also important to remember that some of that Weekend Update delivery style informs him even today. On the other hand, since I was pre Stewart, I watched several of his ACL-ish work. There is no doubt that his and Seth’s satiric targets and delivery methods are reminiscent of each other. However, Stewart seemed so hyper and keyed-up that it seemed to impart everything with the same importance, and it made me a bit nervous (and I speak for a living, so how silly 🙃). Anyhow, they are both excellent. Small room Colbert was close on many occasions until Seth started clearly, for me, pulling ahead.

Is there a reason the lawmakers who are supposed to represent us are the only ones who’s text messages get to remain anonymous?I don’t know the protocol here, but it seems like we have more of a right to know who the lawmakers were sending these text then anyone who isn’t an elected official. Even when it seems the committee is making progress it still feels like there is a lot of ass covering going on.

If she's anything like her father, they picked the wrong person to make an enemy of. I don't like her, but can admire her ruthlessness and appreciate the fact she sticks with what she believes. My thought is she released just the little tidbits to make them squirm and start clamouring over each other to rat one another out as people who flip flop and have no spine are likely to do. I HOPE this is the case and not just covering for colleagues.

They may not be ready to subpoena lawmakers yet. There are probably a lot more of these texts for each lawmaker as well. Right now, they only have what Meadows turned over. This gives them the opportunity to now subpoena the people attached to these texts to see what other involvement they had. And yeah, she's letting them squirm while they wait for the subpoena.

It's true. I mean, when I worked those jobs, I barely had a direct line to my immediate supervisor. Even now in a more "corporate" job, people email me all day asking about things in far off locations I can't possibly know about or control. Like.... You don't really get how this works huh? The guy with the price gun probably didn't even notice the price went up until someone said something. He's been zoning out on this stuff for years now.

God I love Wally so much... That being said, I don't think I'd have made it through this nightmare without this show. Seth, Amber, Lutz, Jenny, Baze, Scollins, and Mikey the Shoe...
