Big Neo advocate here. I love my Mojotone British Neo; definitely a speaker I'd like to hear you demo

re G string: The problem may be the string sticking in the nut slot. This is pretty common, and since the G string is intrinsically hard to tune (intonation is very difficult at the G) so it’s more noticeable on the G . Time for a new setup!

If you're after more stuff to do, a V-Type could be quite an interesting speaker to do this mixer test with, as they have a lower sensitivity than a V30, I could see it working well with a lot of the usual V30 mixer choices i.e. the Creamback family or even a G12T-75 for a hard rock/punk setup if you're feeling mad enough. I'd definitely be keen to see more G12-65 Heritage explorations in general, along with the Classic Lead 80 as its heavy-magnet brother, as there is very little tone testing of either of them on the internet, really surprisingly given they were both mainstays of the NWOBHM sound and very well regarded speakers. They seem to have become a dark corner of the Celestion range that nobody explores, which is a big shame given their history and how capable they are. Keep going with all this testing, it's a brilliant set of resources

The 3rd string is always a problem in guitars with headstocks that set the string on an angle. That guitar has the same kind of headstock of a Gibson. The solution is reducing friction and preventing the string gets stuck where it bends. It can be achieved combining the following actions as necessary: - Widening the slot (the string sits on only one side of the slot, so you take material off the other side). - Slightly rounding off the slot exit where the string goes towards the tuning post (the string would slip better on a rounded-off slot). - If you don't mind a slight misalignment of the string compared to the current setup, carefully doing the same on the other slot exit (really not recommended for newbies; it also requires full string recalibration). - Rounding off both slot exits on the slot side untouched by the string, since string bends make the string «wider» and it could get trapped when it moves. - Correctly cutting the slot base, so the string only really touches the slot base where the string exits towards the fretboard. - Wrapping the string towards the top of the post, instead of towards the bottom, in order to reduce the pressure on the nut (less of a problem if you correctly use locking tuners, but still).

THis sums it all up well but at the end of the day, the G string will always be a little troublesome on Gibson style headstocks.

@@JGStonedRaider Absolutely, it's a flawed design.

I have a variety of different transducers, but only one lonesome compression driver with the Neodymium magnet. I reckon that the top box of each stack wants to be lighter, anyway 😉

Sorry guys, the cabs are great but your distorted guitar sounds are absolute ‘fuzz box’ pants.

@@chrisstevens4680 they do sound harsher on the mic than they did in the room. We’ll do some with the Marshall next, no stomp boxes. But the good thing is that whether or not you like the tones (Davey & I both like gnarly “ugly” sounds) you can hear how the speakers colour things (and better than with prettier sounds).
