It's how the district is managing their funds they are given. Every district is funded differently. If a district mismanages their funds, this is the result. I have been in the education field for over 17 years.

Matsuda the Anaheim high School superintendent makes about 220k a year, I have more respect for him considering he has two decades of class room education. It's rare to have people from the classroom in these positions. Now LAUSD s' superintendent he makes 500k and gives all the contracts to his own companies.

@@charleslaitipaya7149 go to Transparent California. Its closer to 400k for 2022. Low 200k is indeed more reasonable and it’s these superintendents and principals which need to be scaled back. There is a Susanna Smith who made over 1.5 million as superintendent Montebello district. Back in 2019. They had a scandal over this. There is Rio Hondo junior college President who’s close to 700k. Arturo Reyes. No wonder colleges are so expensive too. The largest employer in CA is the CA public school system. You add in state and local and federal employees and it’s a monster. They just rob tax payers with bad service. The higher ups need to make way less and then it’s allocated to better starting and middle pay. Get rid of the unions. They don’t help and just cause more corruption. Police chiefs have outrageous salaries too. 500k easy. These could be scaled back by 200k. 300k is more than enough and they will certainly take it.

That's Federal money. Schools are funded (poorly) by State money. If you wanted to fund schools in California, you shouldn't have passed Prop 13.

They're a whole lot more than "just babysitters". If kids weren't so bad nowadays, teachers could do their jobs. Kids are cursing, throwing things, fighting, acting like little gangbangers and doing unthinkables in the classroom. And most of the times, teachers aren't allowed to do a darn thing to the kids. They can't even kick the troublemakers out of class. Parents won't even help out. Yet they expect schools to feed their kids 3 meals a day. They expect teachers to use their own money to buy things for the kids. Who the hell can teach under these conditions? If you think they're "just babysitters" then you're clueless. You try teaching nowadays see what happens!
