I would change two things in the capsule, then it will be perfect for me. I would replace the Jean skirt with a pair of a line linen shorts in tan or black. It is far more comfortable than the Jean skirt and goes with everything else. I would also replace the black jumpsuit with a flowy midi or maxi skirt with floral or small prints in red or blue. It will go with all the solid color tops and all shoes. Black top and black trouser can create a similar look with the jumpsuit, the jumpsuit doesn’t bring in any new elements to the capsule. Just my personal preference for more variety.

True to size! I went with my normal size of a small and they fit great! They are long, but work well with my platform sneakers or heels/wedges. Otherwise, would need a hem - I am 5'4" for reference. xo
Great video! Packing for a trip has always been a challenge for me. I would love to see a video on how everything fits in the suitcase along with other things not mentioned such as skincare, makeup, nightwear, under garments, sweater/jacket/robe, etc. It would be great to see the suitcase pieces you bring to accommodate everything you need and how it all looks ready to go.

Love your capsule/travel videos, Erin! As an older viewer, I would substitute a pair of black linen blend Bermuda shorts for the denim skirt. I would substitute a black or white linen blend blazer or light sweater for the Farm Rio dress. The black jumpsuit is great, but I would either chose a more covered up version or wear the white eyelet shirt over your version. Don’t forget your hat!

Light pajamas, light jacket with hood ( maybe light down) in case it suddenly gets cold or rains which happens in tropical places. Swimsuits, shorts and tanks for water activities. Rubbery sandals/shoes for activities around water and in case you have dirty shower floor. I've found leather Reef sandals (in a neutral tan color) for active wear more comfortable than fashionable flats for walking around. They give you an arch on the inside which is good for flat footers like me. I bought a few sleeveless ,maxi dresses when they were on sale from Nordstrom, solid colors, black for travel, deep V in front and a little ruching in front and back. Can wear that during day or night, at night wear a light cardigan over it, or a leather jacket if you're back home. And as someone mentioned, my hat would be a cap. These are great ideas. Thank you.
I went to Sam's Club today and found almost all the similar pieces to create my own capsule!! Even found a pair of nude Dolce Vita braided sandals 🥰🥰 I got linen olive green shorts, dressy navy shorts, wide leg gray pants, seer sucker white button up, basic tank, sun dress and 2 shoes. Everything else I already have. Thanks for the tips!
Erin, thank you for this video! You make a daunting task like packing light look so easy. I love all the combinations! But, I get really stuck on fitting the other essentials like a blow dryer, makeup, shampoo/conditioner, etc. That’s where my carry on suitcase starts to overflow.

I bought my first Farm Rio dress a few years ago and I very quickly fell in love with the brand. The fabrics and silouettes are breathable and forgiving so they work very well in the heat.
Excellent idea for a video! I love all the pieces and how I could find many similar pieces in my own closet. Love the store EverEve too. I would love to see a capsule video like this featuring fall/winter clothing.

I definitely love to travel light, but have lots of outfit options! Spent 3 1/2 weeks in and around Germany in the spring (so jackets & sweater necessary) with only a rolling carry-on and tote-type personal item. SO much better than hauling a big bag around!! (Although, I admit I did have to send a box of new purchases home via DHL at the end of my trip😄). Thanks for sharing fun ideas!
I really enjoyed this video. Loss of useful tips! Good reminder how shoes can change the tone of an outfit. We're getting ready to take a road trip. We'll be doing a little of everything: sightseeing, light hiking, cycling. You never know where the day will take you. I could see wearing a version of one of the outfits with sneakers for walking comfort and having a pair of sandals in the car. If we were sightseeing and found a great restaurant, I could just change shoes and feel more pulled together. Also, I love the denim skirt. I think the denim skirt and tank would be perfect for a barbeque. It would be nice for get togethers that are held at parks where you need something that looks nice, but allows you to sit on a picnic table bench.

Went to Alaska. I had to be very thoughtful on what to pack as Alaska can be cold, rainy, warm. I picked layers to peel off or put on . I did happen to get the blue stripe shirt from evereve. Their staff is so helpful in customer service. Because you taught me about wardrobe basics, I feel like I understand it better . Over the last three years I have focus on those basics. Thank you. So when going to Alaska I was able to have a condensed capsule that mixed and matched very well. I could go from whale watching to dinner with small changes to dress up/down
So cute! I’m a full time traveler and all of my clothes are only in a carryon suitcase. I don’t have any jeans and I’m not sure when I’ll add a pair to my wardrobe, because I only wear them in cooler weather. The temperature in Athens is currently 95-105F 😳😬 And the fun dress is my favorite!

I’m a 45’s french, living in Italy, and can assure you you can use this summer capsule to travel this summer to Europe. I would simply recommend a more classic longer elevated skirt instead of the denim one. And add perhaps also a pair of tailored shorts. You’ve got a part of other suggestions in Erin’s previous video on Classic French Style. Ciao !

My favorite component of this capsule are the splashes of color. So many travel capsules only use white, beige, and black. Who wants to go on a summer vacation without a fun color or two? You managed to incorporate a bright red, yellow, and blue. Brava! I traveled to Norway, Paris, and London this summer and incorporated a lovely lilac/lavender in both a shoe, top, and skirt and it went with all of my neutrals and brought some whimsy to my pared down wardrobe. Went to Portugal was very nice just packed a few things. You can always repeat tops and bottoms. I love your blog. Definitely put my sneakers. Two pair of sandals, and one dressy outfit. Scarves and hats as an accessory. Always a time that you can be playful.
This is very helpful. I actually did this a long time ago when I didn't have that much money and I needed to dress professionally at a bank lol but I've haven't really done it as much in the last 20 years. But it's really going to come in handy when I go to Italy and I am going to add some pieces but I don't think I should have to add too much. Thanks again, I really appreciate it😊

Sooo smart and very American. This is great. Like what we normally do but elevated. I bring twice as much and it stresses me out every time packing to go back home when it’s wrinkled and expanded.
This comes at the perfect time! We are taking a family vacation to my parents in Cheyenne for Frontier Days and my sister and her family are meeting us there! Erin I always enjoy your videos but I think this is my all time favorite! Great timing since I’m taking a four night girls trip, everyone is just doing carry on and I’m a notorious over-packer😖. Seriously I have such anxiety packing that I usually end up bringing a month’s worth of clothes for a week long trip! Your hair is so pretty in this style, and wearing a smile makes every outfit look better. This is a perfect capsule for the entire summer, and the basic pieces could be duplicated in any budget. Next time one of the trolls comments that the clothes you feature are too expensive, point them to this video. With a bit of imagination, someone could buy these pieces at any price. I love this capsule wardrobe! I always weigh each item of clothing on my kitchen scale before deciding what to pack because it’s fine to have a carry on suitcase but it’s also important to be able to lift it into the overhead bin and to lift it in and out of my car etc… I have found that lightweight silk pieces which I can wash and dry in the dryer are the most practical and lightweight. Have you weighed the entire contents of your capsule ? It’s one thing to say lightweight and sometimes another to be light in actual weight which is a goal that I have for myself. I just returned from a 3 week European vacation where my suitcase and entire contents weighed 28 lbs. My next trip is to Laos , Cambodia and Thailand for 3 weeks in October. Love so many of these pieces. Suggestion - can you please add the size you selected for yourself on each piece when you link? Sometimes you mention your size and sometimes not. I am similar in size to you and it would be so helpful!
Every other item runs true to size! So I did a small in all tops/dresses, XS/S in the white tank, a 27 in the skirt instead of my normal 26, and 4 in the white jeans. I love the fit details that Evereve includes on each item on their site too - which mentions the fit, size and height of the models that you will see wearing the items! Hope this helps. xo
It is exhausting to pack for a trip. I stay up late (usually 2am) to pack, (even if I’ve packed a week ahead) to leave the house at 4am to fly out. Love…Love…Love this video it breaks it down easily! Your video came just in time as I prepare to pack for my European cruise. I am including a long summer dress, a scarf, and white pants for visiting churches and a few shorter summer dresses and tops to go with my pants. There are no formal nights on Viking Cruises, so I can leave my cocktail dress/evening gown and heels at home, even though I enjoy dressing up. My three pairs of shoes will most likely be Cariuma sneakers (will wear to the airport), Gizeh Birkenstocks, and Vivaia flats.
