Thanks for the Tips💐 ..80% Thick wool mens sox 1x bigger go over your sox, Down comforter with army wool Topper. 100% sherling twin mattress pad or wool blanet. Keep your hat in place with a wool babushka😊 tied: This is how i stayed cozy ..on a 24° night stuck in Smokies.💐
I also use the 12V blanket and I only have the smallest Jackery. But even in the mid 20’s, I only need it a couple hours and my nest is cozy warm all night under the blankets. The key is putting the heated blanket underneath and trapping that warm air under another quilt.
Sleep on top of the electric blanket. The AC50s will power it for 4-5 nights. TIP: Turn OFF the AC ports on your ACS50s when not using AC because having the AC inverter on without being used WILL drain your battery!
Thanks for watching! And right on! That is an absolute fact! Thanks for taking the time to comment and let everyone know that important fact! Have a fantastic day!🙌🏼💯😃
I like your idea of the heavy moving blanket as a tent. I'm not a traveler/camper. And, I think it would work well in a power outage situation at home (I only have a furnace). So, your idea is basically setting up a "micro climate." I plan to use my bedroom (except for cooking of course) as my micro climate. I was looking for a small tent to put on top of the bed. But your idea could work ... maybe use those easy peel hangers ... and rope from the wall one side of the bed to the other wall (my bedroom is small enough). Anyway ... you're suggesting an excellent survival strategy ... the "micro climate." Thanks for the affirmation of my idea too.
Thanks for watching! And I appreciate your comment. The overall goal is to keep us safe and warm. I appreciate you taking the time to comment. Have a fantastic weekend!🙌🏼😃💯
👁👁 I use that idea to make a tent over my couch. Of course I have to find a way to set support poles up at each end of the couch, but it does work fairly well. Those cheap fuzzy blankets that are sold in discount stores work well, and are not as heavy as a quilt. But you need at least 2 to go from one end to the other. 4 would make a double layer roof.
Hello! Thank you so much for watching, and for the very kind comment! I’m glad you find value in my channel, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask! Stay tuned! Just about to upload another video. Have a fantastic evening!😃🙌🏼💯 thank you so much for your support!❤️
Thanks for a good 2nd video on staying warm. I got a 12v throw blanket with a timer on sale at the end of last winter to pre-heat my bed while minivan camping. Works well so I can get to sleep.
Love down vests! I have an ultra light one and hope to find a heavy one at thrift store. I also have Cuddle Duds vest that I’ve been wearing everyday! Great tips . 💕
Your van has a V6 engine if you let it idle it would only use about 1/3 of a gallon an hour and a 4 cylinder engine uses about a 1/4 of a gallon an hour this maybe better than using a propane heater at lest something to consider.
Thanks for watching! Very good advice! Sometimes people cannot leave their vehicles running due to wherever they’re parked. If they’re stealth camping in the city, you can’t leave your vehicle running, but you can roll your windows down a little bit if you have rain guards and vent your Van while using a little propane heater. I’ve been in situations where I have definitely warmed up my car very well before I’ve gone to sleep, and then in the middle of the night, and when I wake up in the morning. That definitely has worked out well, it really all depends on where people are and if they’re able to do that. But for people who live in their cars, doing this every night might not be ideal. Thanks for taking the time to come in! Have a fantastic day!😃🙌🏼💯
Except that anyone camping close to you, specially if you’re in a tent is going to come knocking to tell you to turn the engine off (that would be me) since we don’t want to hear nor breathe the pollution inside our tents, happened to me once. Now if you’re camping without people around then is different although you’ll still be polluting.
I bought a pair of heated gloves off Amazon for $14.95 a month or so ago... I love them. Those suckers get warm! Now, I'm going to see about getting a heated jacket. I had to test the gloves before shelling out for something as expensive as a jacket... May get a heated throw first, though, as I won't be on the road until March or so.
Thanks for watching! And very good to know on the heated gloves, what brand were they? In case someone out there is looking for a good heated glove. There’s so much out there! Have a fantastic day! And thank you for taking the time to comment.😃💯🙌🏼
Love these options, both videos are helping me make the most informed decision about being in a dry cabin after what will be a year off grid. I love the heated, rechargeable hoodie and compatibility for a jacket with battery! I have a regular thick hoodie, but this is great for quick runs to potty outside during winter days, it will be colder that the 30s! I've always liked the style of your Buddy. I'd like alternative heating to reduce diesel fuel heating. I will have electricity so charging will be fine. My Goal Zero is 400 and it is more than I need off-grid. I'll keep it plugged in. Someone gifted me an inverter for the car, great reminder to keep my DC electric plug in blanket easy to reach for ER, in route, thanks!
Thanks for watching! Have you thought about using a little Electric space heater, I use them in my van when I camp at campgrounds in colder weather. Utilize the campground electricity with an extension cord through my window. And it has an intermittent setting so you can have it go on and off as needed depending on how warm you want your space. Mine is a Holmes. I have another one that I purchased at a garage sale, I don’t recall the name of it offhand, but that one is fantastic too! Having a small electric space heater, if you have the ability to plug it in would be ideal. How exciting that you’re going to be able to adventure in Alaska! Keep me posted! This makes my heart heart smile! 😃🙌🏼❤️💯
Thanks for watching! Yes, the Jacory plugs into the 12 V cigarette lighter, and is charged when I am driving. Thanks for taking the time to come! Have a fantastic day!🙌🏼💯😃
