So it turns out that the reason Game Pass doesn't have even more great games is because Sony would rather pay money to keep Xbox from being better than actually invest in their own platform to become better. What a scummy company.
Now I am all about business so I do not want to say it was a scummy tactic. But to me you cannot be trying to prevent customers from finding value in your competitors and then yell foul when they find a business model that works for them that causes them to grow despite you best efforts. Also you cannot yell foul to regulators saying they out maneuvered us and we are scared lol.
Sony not happy with gamers looking at Xbox as a good gaming machine, they are now attacking game pass and trying to stop subscription gaming services taking off? It's a bit late Sony game pass is over 5 years old and has over 25 million subs.
Yeah it makes you wonder why would Sony make some of these statements unless they did not know that Xbox had documentation to prove the business model Sony had been using. Maybe someone overlooked the fact that Xbox had a view into what Sony was doing to keep Game Pass down. If Sony did know this was going to get out to me that means they are in serious trouble. You do not admit to making your self look bad unless you are backed into a corner. Maybe this deal is more threatening to Sony then we thought or someone made a very poor business decision not anticipating that Xbox would pull out the trump cards. Either way this will be interesting to see how this affects gamers and the gaming industry. It also makes you wonder if all the partners working with Sony were down with their business practices and if some of them will openly start looking for other partners now that this news is leaking out.
Yeah I think why Sony is acting like this is that they might fear being forced to also go with the Gamepass model in order to compete. And the better the value of Gamepass is gonna be, the harder it will become to justify 80€ games...
You have a point, Gamer. Me n my ex wife used to play Everquest back in early 2000s. People forget that it was a huge cash cow before WoW hit. Just like with PS, Sony milked as much as they could from people. In the case of EQ, Sony was putting out unfinished expansions. The guild Afterlife used to put up records of their experiences with being locked out of said unfinished content. Although that only affected top guilds, what hit us all was the removal of GM events from all but the high rolling server. Instead of 15 a month, Sony charged 45 per month if you wanted to play on that server. It didnt take long for Warcraft to hit number 1, once it launched.
@@evanhuff682 I worked with some people that played EQ and they were hardcore in the 2000's. They had a website you signed up to be in the Guild and had meetings. I used to hang out with them after work and it was funny. They had a president, VP, treasurer, and had an application to sign up on the website for the guild. I was like this is like a third job because I was working a second job to fill up my spare time.
Great video. I like the music track in the background. This is Rhetri By the way. Hi 👋 Glad to see a great video for us even though it took hours away from playing more Age 😆
Hi Boxenberger, Balrog here!! I enjoyed this video really much (as all the previous ones, keep it up!). I think that Sony could definitely spare themselves outcries like these, and I also think that Microsoft is really thinking to close the game and secure the leadership for themselves. This, by making the Activision Blizzard games exclusives (once they'll be sure that a lot more players want to join to the CoD community on Xbox thanks to Game Pass, to which the games of the series are going to be added once the acquisition goes through). If the company has good numbers in their hands, to justify the lack of revenues from selling copies on other platforms, they shall proceed as I think... and that will be the utmost point of the war (the only real one, between these who huge juggernauts of gaming, not between players who just cheer for one faction or the other and stupidly fight on the web each other)
This was a fantastic video. Well Sony has let the cat out of the bag and their true feelings have been shown to the world. Too bad Sony, this is the cost of doing business. Everything that is happening to Sony right now is their own fault, so don't try and cry now because you had no problem doing the things you did to everyone else without remorse....man talk about Karma! Thank you Boxenberger and Game On!
