Hello Gamers from around the world!
I'm Boxenberger, a passionate gamer from Germany.
I talk on my channel about videogames and topics of the videogame industry. I cover games, technology and opinions/reviews across all kinds of platforms and genres.
If you are interested you can follow me on Twitter where I discuss the latest news in gaming and share a lot of screenshots and opinions about the games I'm playing and gaming in general. Find me at @boxenberger
P.S.: I am from Germany, but I try to do my channel in English so more gamers from all around the world can join here. I am sorry if my English isn't perfect, I do my best, and if you do want to talk in German to me, that's fine too :-)
Lol you have to have Balls to replace Chester 😅... some puns were missed there. I actually like the new singer, definitely not 1 to 1 but she gets pretty close to those Chester high points.
As someone who had a ps5 in switching back to Xbox and getting the 2tb galaxy black series X because Xbox is where the games are that I like now ik a lot of them are on ps but the sp games on ps doesn’t suit me, game pass is a killer deal of games now I might get the ps5 pro next year just depends on if they have a good showcase or whatnot but the Xbox ecosystem is what I like with it being that and pc
I can totally see MS selling off gaming in less than 10 years. Enough buyers out there like Amazon, Apple maybe even Netflix. I don't think MS will be succesfull as just a publisher. Look at their revenue half of it comes from their storefront. They can make 2B max yearly from PS, 1B from Nintendo max total extra 3B yearly extra but lose 10B ftom their storefront. I feel like MS is making another huge mistake.
Boxenberger and Dutch be dropping truth bombs. I’m mostly brand agnostic, but have always slightly favoured the Xbox ecosystem. Now (pc being too expensive to justify within a family budget) I’ll be buying games on the PS5, knowing that they will be upgraded for the PS5 Pro. I’ll keep my Series X, but MS would have to do something spectacular for me to pick up the next Xbox.
From 1:48 onwards I can’t agree more. I love my Xbox series X but it’s going to be my last Xbox. I’m going to go PC most likely. The console will die and Xbox will become Microsoft gaming and become a publisher. Can see it coming a mile off.
Its kinda weird, if you look at the sales charts that came put recnetly for console/game sales, it actually looks like xbox sales went down much lower than MS earnings. It looked like it was only down 18% for hardware. Not sure what to make of it
Well...I mean tbh you actually can lol. Numbers are low for sure, no excusing that, but I do fully expect and would have thought this even day1 of the consoles launching. Xbox gives you 3 different ways to engage with their content - console, PC, and mobile/cloud. And think Las gen just didn't feel the full affect of that. But the consoles still should be selling better, 100% but consoles will remain because Xbox uses series consoles as cloud systems
@@DeadlyHeadley yes it's backward compatible but you can't buy it digitally, if you look on youtube you'll see it runs on series x amd is fps boosted to 60 fps
Xbox is more dependent on xbox podcasts, xbox fanboys, gaming events, xbox gaming news as their marketing. it's weird that all we hear is about xbox news nonstop for the last 10 years but it doesnt seem to help very much. Xbox is without the doubt the most talkative and socially engaged. Phil going on podcasts, doing interviews is marketing. I think word of mouth and online talk is the more effective and cheaper marketing, and they are reaching a global audience. having billboards, TV ads is old school.. we're in the internet era now. kids are on their phones, watching youtube, they arent outside as much or watching TV like older people are.
@@portalplayer while word of mouth is important, absolutely, I don't see Xbox do any online marketing either. Podcasts and stuff isn't marketing. That's for fans, that's for Media and content creators. No one who doesn't know what an Xbox is will care if Phil is on a podcast. And yeah, viral marketing is the more modern approach, but it only works if you have brand recognition and brand awareness. And Xbox doesn't have that...
Pc haves free online gaming and in consoles online cost lot of money. That why subscribtion tiers are more expensive in consoles because subscribtions includes online
I barely see any PlayStation ads anymore, yet they’re doing way better than Xbox. I consider Xbox marketing to be the most intense out of the big 3.. they constantly appear in conferences and gaming events. PlayStation hasn’t done any big gaming event in a long time, probably 5-6 years ever since they skipped e3 in 2019. I see way more Xbox based podcasts than PlayStation or Nintendo combined. Xbox is constantly on the top of the gaming news. Phil Spencer does more interviews than anyone in gaming. This is all part of Xbox marketing, the Xbox podcasts, Phil Spencer interviews, etc. PlayStation and Nintendo don’t do any of this.
@@portalplayer well, Playstation doesn't do shows like Gamescom etc. However, those are not marketing. That's for already existing fans. No one goes to E3 or Gamescom who isn't already invested in gaming. And I see tons of ads for Playstation. May it be during TV commercials, billboards or sport events. Generally Playstation is a well known brand, they can afford also way more to rely on word to mouth. Here in Germany 9 out of 10 people don't know what an Xbox is
@@Boxenberger 9 out of 10 is bad. I didnt know it is that bad over there for xbox. I consider gamescom, the xbox podcasts+content creators, xbox gaming news, as part of marketing. Anything that keeps the xbox brand talked about is marketing. gaming news is almost all driven by xbox. traditional media like tv ads/billboards are becoming less important now since our society is more online now.
Dutch's laugh when you said they're going to reduce marketing 😂, I think what's going to happen is, you'll be in a pub and hear pssss wanna buy an Xbox 😂 that'll be their marketing in future.
Gears of War could have had its Breath of the Wild moment if they just embraced open world design. Instead, they're making something more linear which will significantly reduce its market impact.
The whole "new people won't want to join halo because it's so old" Ignore every piece of proof that prove that a load of rubbish. MARIO, SONIC, SUPER SMASH BROS, CALL OF DUTY, BATTLEFIELD......the list goes on
Just a small note on Gears of War, Marcus was court martialed 10 years after E Day and then spent 4 years in prison up until the start of Gears of War 1. So maybe there will be a story line leading up to that.
If I counted right, 30 games/expansions, 17 coming out this year, 9 coming out next year, and 4 with no date which I would assume would/could be launch titles..... Gears of War, State of Decay, Metal Gear Solid, Perfect Dark.
STARFIELD MODDING IMPORTANT UPDATE For those unaware Bethesda modding has always been nuts, in fallout 4 you have 2gb to mod the game however you want. You can chamg the world add entire DLCS the lot. However in Starfield they gone WAY above this. You now have no joke 100GB you read that right 100! for reference i have downloaded an entire suit and it maxed out at 119mb! Modding will be insane.
