The youth of today dont realise that this was actual comedy and comedy at its finest and not some of the drivel thats served up nowadays. im 27 so wasnt around at this time but was bought up on it, really good stuff!!
I love this and i felt so happy when i got my picture taken with Eric's statue but i really think he should be with Ernie. Never mind I love this everytime an firetruck goes past me and my dad quote it x
Actually the joke at the start isn't really a joke any more because if you go to Rome by plane you WOULD touch down in Amsterdam first to change planes!
+Kho Wji @ Apparently both Eric & Ernie were rather dubious about sharing a bed, but when they were told that Laurel & Hardy had done the same thing they said that if it was OK for them then it was OK for us.
Story is that Eddie Braben who wrote many of their classic sketches tried to get them to do the now legendary bed sketches for ages, but Morecambe and Wise were at first reluctant and would refuse any notion of doing the sketches together in bed until one day Braben said if it's good enough for Laurel and Hardy, think that sold them as they were massive admirers of Stan and Ollie, and the rest is history!
