It's funny how viewers get a little possessive and demanding of their favorite creators . It's like a girlfriend who likes who you are when she first meets you , but then spends all her effort trying to change you into something else. I like all the content .
@@morestyforest4325 I guess I look like a project or fixer upper to some . LOL Wranglerstar explained it best to disappointed viewers and fans that after making axe and forestry videos for nine years his heart just wasn't in it anymore and the lack of enthusiasm will show in the work . Channels need to evolve in a natural way . IMO . Cheer's
Don't worry. Carry on what you are doing. I liked the Calgary canoe trip. Sort of reminded me of Steve Wallis and his Saskatchewan boat trip, minus the solar panels but including the groundings! Keep it up, it's fun. People don't realise how long all this video production and youtubing takes! I make loads of extra footage and it's cool you have this channel to show your extra stuff!
Mr. Foresty .... Both channels are great! This one really lets us see the effort that goes into your hikes, which we get in your weekly edited videos, but in a different way. The raw material is so ... well, raw! It was great in a previous video being with you on the slow final steps of an ascent. So the formats go together really well. Please continue both, and as me and Lucille said, please don't apologize. More Foresty is better than less.
What keeps me watching?... the great photography, the awe inspiring natural vistas, your authenticity ( it shows), your passion for nature, photography, good food and engineering (how stuff works). You are a very likable and gifted storyteller...
I like you just being you. Not trying too hard to produce video content. Just you, living your life and being you. Trust me, even if you post videos of you just having a supposed boring day of running chores, washing your car or you just laying on your bed and talk to us, it's stll the kind of video we love to watch!
Your videos have helped keep me and perhaps many others sane during lockdowns, here in the UK we have been in lockdown since beginning of January, and as I live alone, isolated, on the edge of Dartmoor Devon, your channel felt like I still had some connection to the outside world. Even though the UK is coming out of Lockdown, your videos are what I call 'real' life, and help to keep the 'normal' in an often 'insane' world. Thank you so much for all your hard work.
I think forest needs to make a T-shirt for sale and the image is this. It’s a picture of him from behind on a mountain top sitting down looking our at the horizon with his arm around crocky and forest says "well buddy it was a fun ride" and then he slowly pushes crocky off the mountain haha.
I would love to see some long videos of your hikes in the mountains. The short hiking segments in your regular videos always leave me wanting to see more. The landscapes you show are amazing and the drone footage is stunning. You have a real gift for film making.
LOL. I was one of the people who thought "Moresty" was an imposter and I was about to go off on him trying to bank off our favorite RU-vidr! But my cool head prevailed and I took time to 'investigate', realized this page did indeed belong to our Foresty! YAY now we'll get double doses.
I like the idea of a second channel with extended hikes. As mentioned I’m not able to hike while my busted ankle heals so I’m loving the hiking footage. It gives me hope 👍🏽👍🏽💯
Simon, you do not need to apologize! I am living both channels. I understand the rationale behind having the two and to be honest, the second channel is exactly what I was hoping for....more experiences with you out on hikes and everyday life with Simon. I think it is brilliant and hope to continue both channels!
I love you hiking channel. I enjoy watching you hike immensely. It is a constant reminder for me to get back into hiking again. There is a certain peace that comes with solitary hikes in the back country that i don’t get doing anything else.
It's not a channel name change. He is still posting on the original channel. This is his second channel. The way youtube works is if he posts these smaller videos on his main channel, youtube will decide they don't want to promote the videos and fewer people will see him in their suggested videos page.
@@elaexplorer it kind of is renamed, this was the “FF only hikes” channel, I think, and so has been renamed from that to Moresty. That’s the way I’m interpreting it, so this comment could be way off! 🤞
Thx for the update and the thoughts on both channels! I really like the ideas and creativity - using the extra footage you have shoot during the hikes. I am sure it‘s quite the effort, so making specialized videos will make this much more rewarding!
Haha, I also thought you were driving around with the old crockpot until I saw you using it! Thanks for the great videos especially the cooking segments, I also enjoy seeing you camping out with others! Safe travels 🚐
I'm just so thrilled to have more content from you and to enjoy your time with you. TYSVM for all this fabulousness. So sad about all your lost footage, has to be heartbreaking. But a reason to head back some day. 🙌🙌😁
Off topic, but love the view from your window. Lovely with the snow falling! Rarely get snow where I live. So I'm thrilled with any videos you post with snow. Think I could easily watch 10+ minutes of the snow just falling... Perhaps the 80 degree days here are to blame. Keep posting whatever you like & I'll keep watching!
Not that the van life isn't interesting, but I'm super excited to see much more of your trail life. That's the focus of my main channel and it's always encouraging to see other creators with an interest in the outdoors making content about what happens when they put one foot in front of the other.
At this point in this pandemic I think I'd watch you eat soup and say absolutely nothing. I like the idea of you condensing down the entire trip back from the summit spead up so we get the full appreciation for what you're going through. Keep up the good work!✌
The long form asmr vids of you hiking/ biking/paddling/campfire with your thoughts thrown in are great. An hour or two of that in the background is fantastic. Heck, throw in a full 8 hour (or more) summit trek for good measure. I don't think anyone here will complain.
The main channel is just absolutely spot and its just perfect mate. I like this channel because it's more of a chance of get to know you as a person your feelings your ideas and actually get know more of the myth the legend that you'be become on RU-vid. Awesome as per usual bud 👍
Great stuff Forest! I love the fact that you've started this second channel! Perfect for all the extra footage that can't make it into your main channel. I'm excited to see what you end up doing with this channel!
Well, funny but I've watched a ton of videos from this channel and was clueless until now. Hahaha I will say I enjoy your videos tremendously because of the nature you allow me to see. It's all about nature for me. And, you're an amazing guy that shows it by chance. You do a great job as a whole but never allow your focus to stray from what matters most, nature. 😊
Love the concept and love the fact that you are expanding your You Tube footprint, rather then wasting time with other platforms. The idea of seeing more drone footage, and scenes from along the hikes is great. More detailed looks at some of the van build out would be excellent as well. Sorry for the footage that was lost, have you considered flash drives or some other back up system for your footage? Just so you can access on days when you want to spend time editing and uploading. Now that the van is mostly finished, hopefully you can set aside time to edit content for upload, when weather makes hiking or biking out of the question. Keep up the great work documenting your adventures sir. Thanks for sharing it with us!
Forresty Forest..always excited to see whatever you post, always happy to spend time with you...:) longer is more enjoyable and look forward to watching ...love the videos and more in depth content and more channels. Woohooo...Love what you do. Stay safe.. God bless
I like both channels. I enjoy your content and like what you're doing. It might be cool to see some more in depth van cooking stuff on this channel, too.
Your plans sounds exciting man :) Looking forward to seeing what you get up to, I definitely enjoy the "uncut" foresty. Some of your older vids were quite like that when I started watching. We are about to move into a van of our own and explore Europe and you've definitely been an inspiration man, keep it up :)
There are so many larger creators out there that have two channels. The main one is like you said , for that nice and neat video uploading . Whereas your second channel should be a way to experiment and maybe even connect more with the fan base. Being able to post what you want without it being completely polished can be nice for both creator and viewer. Keep up the great work as always!
I love your channels, they have a different feel but to be honest I would just watch you talking in your van or just cooking. You do whatever you want , it’s your channel, those of you that follow you faithfully don’t really care, we just like watching you 💕
I love what you're doin' my northern maple syrup friend. I personally will enjoy literally anything you put out, even if it's just you sitting in some parking lot talking to the camera. You're a joy to listen to. Wish much happiness to you and your future ~
Heh Foresty, just a suggestion... you are in a unique position on your hikes. You go hiking into some remote valleys and places on your summit hikes. It would be interesting to hear your experiences, just generally, on what those hikes are like... how much wildlife you see, do you see other hikers etc? Living in Calgary I've hiked alot of those areas but nothing as extreme as you do. Would really like to hear your voiceovers of some of the longer hiking footage you take. Just a thought....
I'm always up for more(sty) Forest. How about some behind the scenes footage in a video? Show us how you create all the awesome shots you work so hard for.
New channel is completely different and does not interfere with original. Keep up the good work! The way I see it new channel is for those who really get the Foresty experience.
I know a lot of RU-vidrs don’t want to mess with consistency in views on their main channel, and use a side channel for experimenting, and just goofing off. It really works well! I also think a lot of us really enjoy the consistency of seeing weekly videos! Thanks, and keep it up!
I like these talking and climbing unedited. I started following you when you where doing the bike packing and like the evolution to summiting mountains.
Thanks for the explanation, I thought you had a twin? No just kidding, enjoying your coverage of travel, hiking, and the scenery, Rocko is the bomb, keep them coming.😊
If this channel lets you be you and helps you as your outlet then there shouldn't be any problems. Hope you're doing well and looking forward to the stuff you want to try out! Maybe some ASMR hiking video would be good, who knows 😄
Just keep on keepin' on with being yourself - You're popular because you're unassuming, a genuine nice guy, and you're out there doing awesome stuff....
IF you can afford it try to move towards SSD or other solid state storage solutions. The vibrations of being in the van for long periods will put strain on and shorten the lifespan of traditional HDD storage as the parts keeping the physical disks apart wear and they start to knock together (among other issues). There are also some suspension solutions I've seen to mitigate the effects on the HDD but they still won't be 100%. Linus at LTT did a video at the end of march with a vanlife theme. I love the content, keep up the great work Foresty!
Looking forward to your drone footage or hinking or climbing or cooking or building footage whenever it gets posted to whichever channel you post it to! Good luck. Stay safe out there!
Thanks for a peek into the method's madness. :) For the creative, all production is an experiment and an evolution, the 'formula' always subject to improvement.
I've seen more mountains from your videos and I live in Alberta! And when I watch them I realize you have to backtrack soooo many times to grab the camera for the next shot .....unreal buddy! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍
2 Foresty Forest channels is Better then 1... It's good for us to see how long some of these hikes or adventures actually take .... They are all so Magnificent.... What ever you show us...we will be Thankful to see...
Mate- do what you want. It’s entirely up to you. Experiment, be creative, change formats. Having two channels is fine. Loved the strata of the Ghost Peak hike. Keep up the great work.
Also, just a hint to enthusiasts: You can even get a third "channel" if you give to Mr. FF on Patreon. I have found it to be satisfying and gratifying.
