But neither would ever call each other their god-given solace, the one he really needs, her reactions when he kisses her cheek, constantly reminding each other we love each other (we say it sometimes, but never as often as they do). If she had been skinny, they would've found a way to get the characters together. Just look at countless other shows Mark Gordon has made. Grey's Anatomy, The Rookie, Quantico. Look at other shows Jeff Davis has created, ex. Teen Wolf. They would've found a way to the two of them together if Garcia was thin. Alvarez was a replacement for Derek Morgan and getting with Garcia was a decision made only due to the backlash they got.
