One of the best days of my life included Morgan Wade. We showed up to Road Fools Rock and Roll tour at Flow I had a full pot of Ramen Noodles, and a half drunk bottle of Vodka and dude was so stoked! That was the coolest day of riding bikes ever. I got to touch Hoffman's bike.
It would be great to have some of the guys from Ride on to talk about the magazine back in the day. When I started riding in the late 90s/early 2000s, magazines were pretty much the only place to get any coverage of BMX, and Ride was the best one hands down. I'm sure there are some great stories.
Can we get another show like road fools back out there ?! 😭 I watched fuel tv always waiting for them to show bmx videos. Got lucky once in a blue moon and it was on. Fell in love with bikes ever since. Loved seeing the behind the scenes goofing off.. I’ll donate to get something like that going again
Thank you Morgan for finally bringing Longview a legit skatepark. I've waited my whole life. I used to go to his home park in Tyler and it was fun but there was usually a lot of ppl there, especially kids, but now that skatepark doesn't even exist so there weren't any options left. I had quit for like a solid decade but now I'm getting back into it finally
I haven’t been able to ride BMX in about a decade but I still have my bike on a wall in my garage and I still keep up with it. I love this podcast/channel and the awesome guests you have. It also helps me pass the time away while at work. Thanks for putting this together. Also, thank you for not (unnecessarily) editing the content down to fit in to a single hour. So many interviews are chopped and sliced in order to fit in to a pre-defined block of time and it ruins the vibe. I like that you just let the cameras roll and keep the convo organic. I personally have a laundry list of dudes I’d like to see on here but will continue to watch whoever you put on. ✌️
As the guy who got the key for doin a 180 over the spin in the rain totally worth it to have a key given to me from Morgan wade I'd do it a million more times
I remember watching road fools five and seeing Morgan ride. It was cool to see a local from TX. and yeah.....Morgan is crazy. full speed. lol remember Leland??? lol
As far as comps go, I agree with everything said and miss the old style. I think part of the change is runs used to be like 2 mins, now they're what, 30 secs? When you start doing stalls and all the cool stuff, it kills the speed of the run that you simply don't have time to make up on. For example Mirra's 2001 vert run, he had 2 mins, did heaps of bangers and still had time to do every grind both ways.
Mental health is a huge part of firearm safety. I don’t buy one (even though I want one) because I know I would have a bad day/night and end my shit. If you don’t have mental issues, get yourself one but I can’t 😭 even though all my friends love to go shooting
3:10:00 in about caused my death. I’m listening while working out and Fudger’s response to the condom next to Morgan’s head nearly killed me. Good episode guys. They’re all good!
I enjoy firearms as well. I carry daily. I've noticed the noveske sticker. I was wondering if Morgan had sponsors from the gun industry. This was pretty damn cool to learn about him. We gotta go shooting sometime Morgan! I'll bring some fun guns
I would love to have a gun conversation with Morgan Wade. I am pro gun and own my own firearms, but the barrier of entry needs to be much higher. The responsibility is far too high for any dipshit to be able to walk into a store and walk out with a rifle the same day. Mandatory gun safety, mandatory self defense training, expanded back ground checks and license requirements are all a must.
It honestly bums me out you have to defend yourself when you have an opinion. You don't have to have to lie to kick it bro. The gun conversation was perfect.
i feel there more 1st and 2nd gen rider in the comments. need to get some more legends like edwin, Josh hino, josh harrington ect looking from turbulence rider, on the down low, the expendables these rider we looked up to, or recap of those epic videos that made bmx. i wish the man the myth the legend the gonz would make an appearance.
Props to mike varga and pulling that. Kid from my home town that rode a 16" when he was starting out.Oshawa ont had a serious scene for years and there was quite a few guys that could easily roll with the pro's.
Great shows all the way around. Im dieing to hear one of my favorite all time rider. Mr shawn butler! He would make one great show for sure. Get him on ryan, please and thank you in advance
Morgan’s description of the femoral artery is 100% accurate. When I was a kid my friend stabbed his femoral artery with the handlebar ends. He sat down and within seconds his shorts were deep red. Ten second later he stood up and I swear to god it looked like someone was standing behind him and dumped a five gallon bucket of blood on the ground.
I got hit in the face with a brick, it crushed my orbital, and I lost short term from Halloween to Nov 2nd ish, and the people who gave me a ride to the hospital were so annoyed of broken record questions they also wrote down answers and just left me at the er and the last time I came to and found them in my pocket I had a severe disassociation and that day a sim theory virus was planted deep in an over-analytical mind but it was excellent on finding joy in thought exercises and free-thinking
mutiny video suzanne vega toms dinner theres no business like show business such a great video between you and hickerson it was like I see where this is going also that nothing over the dirt double one of the best builds to music I've seen in video worked great with painkiller
Talking about modern day BMX....Companies and the people they choose to promote to the main stream have a massive role in what becomes cool. So many people have ridden so similar for so long that so many kids are just growing up riding exactly like everyone else because that's what is shown to them. Contests need a completely different judging format. Obviously the normal "nothing against the way anyone in contests rides" disclaimer goes without saying but BMX contests are literally figure skating these days. At the same time, BMX without a doubt celebrates variety and a lot of companies do have well rounded teams. I don't know what the solution is. Promoting just being yourself is the most important in my eyes.
Chicken/egg conversation. You could argue that companies back riders that the “people” deem popular. Hard to say it’s one or the other. Agreed on the other points. Solution? Who knows.
I've got some footage of the 2006 X Games Bmx Park comp, but it's only the german TV 20 minute or so highlight compilation. I could send it over if you want it.
