Oversinging is definitely inevitable to singers who wishes to go outside their comfort zone. This shows how they want to step out of their nest and explore other abilities. Although, if done frequently, may cause the audience to cringe.
In Morissette's case, she stepped out of over stylizing the songs she's performing after her The Voice stint. However, there are times where she is carried away with the song and proceeds to doing random unrehearsed whistles and high notes.
