Justin, you are right about practice being one of the biggest contributor to one's talents. Mori was trained by her father when she was younger. Regine Velasquez and Lea Salonga as well. They may already have that innate talent to begin with but to be on their level, the effort put into practice makes the difference. While most Filipinos can't afford or have no access to singing lessons or formal music lessons, Filipinos incorporate singing in their daily lives. Mothers would sing to their kids to sleep. We don't usually read to them. Karaoke is a staple during occassions. It's being exposed to music and singing in our daily lives.

I consider this one of Mori's masterpiece performance. What an incredible and dynamic vocals. Thank you for reacting to her music once again.

This song is so so sad because it's about a dissolution of a relationship. She wants to let go but also maybe still wants to maybe work it out. But how long can a person take being so unhappy and miserable in a relationship. So at the end of this song, she decides to choose her own happiness. And the squeaks are so appropriate her because it adds colour and really drives home the pain of this song.

Philippines has a lot of very good singers but why can’t they be famous worldwide. They’re great in belting and storytelling but why can’t they get a break?

The secret why Filipinos are good at singing is simply because of them being such happy people (despite the ups and downs in life) and when one is happy there’s a tendency to sing. Filipino children start hearing songs even when they’re still in their mothers’ wombs, after being born they still hear their parents sing (with or without karaoke), most Filipino homes have radios and karaoke, and so these kids were exposed to singing at very early age, as the saying goes ‘practice makes perfect’ (good exercise for the lungs).

Yeah she practice everytime she join the local singing contest in the Philippine, Specially in Cebu where morisette growing up, when you got the talent in your younger years then make used to it.Participating in singing contest is a big deal.
