The plant you referred to as African ground orchid, we refer to as Queen Anne's Lace around here. It's kind of a pain, as the seeds stick to your clothing like burrs. About the only good thing I can say about it is, if you pick the flowers before they're fully open and place the stems in water with food coloring in it, you can get pastel hues to the flower. Always enjoy your content. God Bless and stay safe.

Hey Pete, I remember the silage chopper that we had when I was a teenager. It had a tensioner that had a lock nut on it. After the second time that the lock nut was replaced because it would start backing off, I decided to try 2 regular nuts and tightened them together. That worked until the chopper was retired. Apparently, vibration was loosening the nylon insert in the lock nut.

We did our final hay cutting here in southern Ohio. We have the same haybine as Pete and my Dad told me it broke on him, the universal joint broke apart from the PTO coupler side of the shaft and he said the shaft slid out and rolled across the ground 😅, he made a trip to the tractor supply store and bought a new one and pressed it back together and finished to field, almost a week later we baled and it took almost a week to let it dry because the humidity was %70-%80 (plus heavy dew) all week but it's baled, sold and we are done with that part for the year, next comes soy bean harvest.

Glad you are back on the farm. All the different tractors were neat but the farm and the work that you and Hilarie do is what's most interesting to us. Really like the drone view of the entire farm. Hello Pete, I have been following your videos for several years from Belgium. I am often surprised how you have just the same thing on your daily schedule as I have here on my horse farm. I just came home from mowing the last cut of hay this year, and 6000 km away from here you do exactly the same :-) . I manage my pastures exactly the same as you do, without chemicals. I do wonder how you manage to have hardly any docks (this big leaf weed who spreads easily) in your pastures. Best regards, Ed .

I'm late getting to your latest video because I have moved over the weekend and my pc has been packed for a few days. Just got my internet up and running in my new place and was finally able to sit down to relax a bit and enjoy your video. It has been the highlight of my busy day today. As always, being on the farm with you and Hilarie is relaxing, satisfying and a pure pleasure to watch and enjoy. Your mowed hay is so thick, yes, it was easy to see how lush and full the grass was! I wasn't able to hear the crickets or the tree frogs however, I'm sad to report. But the Praying Mantis was a delight to see! And watching the cows with you was a delight as always. And to watch you stop in the middle of your mowing just to regale us with one of your corny jokes was the icing on the cake. lol Actually, that was a pretty good joke, Pete. :) Thank you again as always, and I look forward to the next visit on Just a Few Acres Farm. Pete & Hilarie your content is always a delight to watch here in the UK not least because of the hard work and principled ethics you both have, but also for the inspiration and ingenuity you constantly show in bringing us clips of your working life, with your rare moments of relaxation, that might at times otherwise seem very seasonally repetitive for you. I often wonder whether Ezra the stray cat still visits you. His inquisitive antics have always for me added to the wonderfully entertaining content of your videos. Your more recent slow drone footage expertly following closely while you work with your fleet of tractors is a splendid addition in allowing the viewer to feel even more involved with you in your work.
