martinaee , in fairness to her, some of Mika's pointlessness is down to Joe not-letting her speak.

Really? Maybe I don't watch enough of them to see that. My impression when I've watched segments from that show is that Joe will say something and give an opinion on a topic and Mika just kind of nods and agrees with him while adjusting her sweater. Then she drinks the product-placed Starbucks or whatever and says how horrible or reprehensible something is. I don't hate her, but it is a really weird dynamic on the show and she never really seems like she's there to give a deep opinion or anything.

I was halfway expecting to see it incorporated into the bit, but it wasn't.

CJ Forrester I thought the same! God MAD T V was AMAZING. Their skits are STILL way, Way more provacative and had real edge that SNL hasn't seen in decades. MadTV went for the jugular and left no prisoners while they made people hoarse from laughter! Fuggit. I'm going to go watch MadTV reruns :p
