Morning on Harelaw Dam on the the Cow Dung Shipmans Buzzer

A couple of hours on Harelaw Dam in less than ideal conditions. Bright sunshine for most of the morning with very few fish moving the Cow Dung Shipmans Buzzer still managed to tempt a few fish up to the surface. Including another fish about 30 seconds after my battery ran out.

My goodness, I watched this video expecting to hear some commentary on the set-up, flies or leader. Nothing! At 16 mins we hear "fish" then "Shipman buzzer does the business". Tremendous knowledge being shared. That's 17 minutes I'll never get back.

Great Video, I have never fished the Harelaw. Looking at some fisheries to try out in the Central Belt. Looks a cracking bit of water.

Thanks Lee! It’s a cracking fishery from the bank or boat. If your planing on fishing it from the bank be prepared to wade as it’s pretty shallow, which makes it perfect for dry fly fishing. Thanks for watching. Danny

Danny Leitch Thanks Danny. I fish the Loch Lomond system and that is totally on its knees for fishing. I have fished the odd fishery here and there and I have really enjoyed it. My set up is mostly #7 and #8 weights. Should I go lower for the Harelaw.

lee taylor 7# is fine although I fish a 5# if i know I’m going to be on the drys all day.
