my thoroughbred I have recently found out that he is the MOST sensitive to flies. I lived in Vegas and we had little to no bugs, but once I moved to the country holy canolli, every time of biting bug imaginable. He would constantly be covered in hives/welts. I spray him religiously twice a day and I used a product that's like flea treatment for dogs that you renew every two weeks. So far has been a hidden gem.

I have the same issue with my THB. Fly blankets and spraying otherwise she'll break out in hives and welts. I'm curious what product you are using, which is like flea treatment for dogs.

I use something called "smidge" on my tb (not sure if just a UK thing or not) but it works wonders and keeps the nasty flies away :)

I hope you are feeding these horses 24/7 with hay bags. Doing differently is really not good for their digestive system, right? So sorry the heat and lack of rain has wreaked havoc with pasture! Thank you for posting.

Well done Lucy you’ll become extremely fit doing all this and benefit from it which will help you in the race for sure. The best thing I ever did when I was young I was at peak fitness and felt soooo good mentally and physically if I could I’d still be riding the tbs but sadly I’m too old now but will always have fabulous memories so you enjoy every minute of it while your young. Tfs 😎🏇😎
