I loooove how Laura is sooo open and down to earth and never tries to hide from the past! she's so open about her cancelation and doesn't mind bringing it up. doesn't ever try and run away from it! I appreciate that so much! thank u Laura for being relatable and open. it helps me truly be open about past mistakes I've done and learn to not run away.
I think she chose to actually grow from the situation. Someone who chooses to run and avoid a situation wouldn’t be comfortable with being uncomfortable. She’s willing to face the music every time. It shows incredible humility.
Not selling makeup beauty influencer brands was a bad move because that was imo the only thing they had over sephora/mac/ulta stores because that’s where you could go to swatch and buy those brands specifically in person
I've always wished for the same thing too honestly! I live in Ohio and I don't think there is a Morphe store here (or should I say WAS now lol). I have one Morphe palette and it's because my boyfriend ordered it for me on Morphe's website so he didn't get it in a Morphe store. I was never really into Morphe all like that so I guess it's no big loss to me but I would LOVE a "makeup/beauty products/skincare super store" type place too! That would be heavenly!

as an ex-m*rphe employee the store i worked for got NOT even A DAY notice that we were closing… They just got us all on a zoom call & said we were closing THAT DAY… I had so much love for my coworkers and that’s the only thing I’m going to miss
Morphe is shady as shit. Some employees found out on twitter their stores were closing when they put out their "announcement". It's honestly disgusting not telling their staff at LEAST a month or 2 in advance to arrange new jobs or to maybe set aside money to go independent or freelance. They knew long before now they were closing every brick and mortar store. They done their employees dirty and the board/ceo etc should be ashamed on themselves.

went to morphe at the Planet Hollywood in December 23. everything is 80% off so i shopped. i ask the SA if they’re are closing and her response was “i hope not!” i feel bad that they were in the dark.
In 2022 I was bullied severely to where I had a mental breakdown. I felt pressure to keep going due to a dire financial situation and legal case I was trying to help with financially. I went to Uk to see my dad and uncle for last time and suffered with anxiety as well as getting Covid. I struggled with effects of having Covid and depression ‘anxiety. The place I work and have Built for 5 years putting my heart and soul into to make it incredible and profitable and Great place to work burnt down to ground, I was made redundant. I also finally started to realise at 47 I’m never having my own child , which is brutal as people say ‘don’t give up hope’ but at some point I realised I have to. Then my Dad passed away just before Christmas . It was a tough tough year but do you know what?there were still great memories and moments. We have to remember those and remind ourselves even when it’s hard. ❤ sending prayers to any one watching who had a rough year. I’ll be making a video about it and how to take the learnings from a rough year 🙏🏻🥰💕😘🦋

I have to be honest and say that when the podcast first came out I didn’t think it was going to be good enough/I didn’t think I was gonna be interested nothing against you. But I just wanted to let you know not that you care, but I absolutely love it and find a very interesting. I don’t like many podcasts that are just conversation based, but yours is great.
I’m kinda glad morphe is “done”, IMO by influencers pushing it to hard it just got unbearable. I got to a point where if Jaclyn Hill promoted anything of theirs I just would flat out not watch the video. I would try the products recommended by influencers and felt like I got scammed because it was just so over hyped.
I love you guys so so so so much!!!! You guys always make my week. I watch both of you separately & together, every video. Such a huge fan, but I do want to suggest that whenever you talk about people on the podcast, to just give a small blurb about who they are. I find myself not knowing who the heck you guys are talking about sometimes & would love just a tiny backstory for who you talk about. I know you guys do actually do that sometimes, but not all the time. I think people would really appreciate it (including me) bc not everyone knows who these people are. I love you guys so so so much. Thank you for always spreading so much love & joy.

I feel like the move to tik tok influencers was because they had higher numbers in their reach, but like Laura and Manny said, just because those influencers have more reach doesn’t mean all of those people are interested in makeup like a beauty guru’s following would be. And I think that’s a big reason why things flopped

I’m so the same about not wanting to be the center of attention! I was so bad as a child that I would cry when people sang happy birthday to me and wouldn’t eat cake until everyone was gone!! I still hate it, but I eat that cake and don’t cry.

I rode with morphe way back when they only had a booth at the la county fair & they had the TINIEST store in Burbank where you had to wait in line to be let in bc it was sooo crowded. Sad forma did their brand & employees dirty like that.

I’ve been born and raised in the valley (818) and when the whole trump thing came out it shocked me because living in such a diverse area I didnt really experience that real racism that goes on which made me realize how blessed and grateful I am to have been born here my mom is an immigrant Mom who happened to arrive in LA! She made it for all of us and till this day I’m still grateful and wouldn’t want to move out of LA for that reason sooo many pluses I love California ❤

I can confirm as a pro MUA in the midwest and based in STL. The Nashville, TN Morphe store was huge. It closed shortly after covid openings began. If that doesnt tell you about whats going on with Morphe, I dont know what will.
3 weeks of severance is insane, and not required at all. That’s really amazing of Morphe. As for Equinox, I don’t mind them closing registrations for one month. Loyal customers are the ones that don’t want a crowded gym in January, I’ve seen those vids.
You guys are lucky with your weather .. our recent snow storm in PA was crazy!!!! I ended up missing work bc our water pipes burst in the building and it had to be fixed. I actually enjoy gloomy rainy weather it’s so soothing 😍
2022 sucked cause I got Breast Cancer and been down with Chemo🤷🏻♀️ Plenty of downtime and I got through all of the RHWOP and now I’m on RhoJersey season 8 thanks to you all!!Jersey is also cray cray!! Love it😂
So true about Andrew Tate really harming the mindsets of young men and boys. I’m a 5th grade teacher and most of the boys in my classes hold him up on a pedestal. I think right now they’re only seeing and admiring the cars and lifestyle of excess, but it’s only a matter of time before they start being able to understand and internalize his views on women. Very scary!

I've used both of your codes back in the day, when Morphe was great. I don't order from them, and I really loved what I had. My very first order was Laura's favorite brushes, and STILL use them to this day. My opinion of them changed after Jaclyn's volume 1 palette changed, and was no longer vegan. My heart goes out to each and every one of the employees. What they did to Y'all was shameful.
Can I just say I have been following you two for easy more than 5 years , and to see y’all ( im from the south 🤭) rise so genuinely and make something from your own friendship to us is honestly AMAZING! Manny you are the reason I bought my first Morphe palette years ago cause i saw you use their shadows and brushes so much! I was ecstatic when they opened a store in my city and during Christmas I went to their store and it had closed and I had just been there like 3 weeks before. I feel so bad for their employees. 😭😭

The crazy thing is they indirectly supported cancel culture. And that ruined their credibility by doing so and lost millions of customers who supported them because of their favorite beauty gurus.
