It's not the brand. It's the constant pushing of the codes. Jaclyn never films unless she is promoting something she will benefit from. Once a month. And constantly jamming that code down our throats. It gets old. She changed. other RU-vidrs do the same thing. Thank you Kathleen for not doing that and staying true to yourself. Not selling out. I like who you are and how you haven't changed. You have fame and a brand and a bunch of collabs but that never got to your head and you still film and post multiple times a week. You didn't let it affect your channel. So thank you. That's why your my favorite.

Amanda Renea I think that with her constantly using makeup geek, it would get old as well. She can't please everyone. But I think her content is great. She's branching out and not just being the same old person she was. If I was the same person I was 5 years ago, I would be annoyed with myself. With makeup it's always changing and that's amazing that people are able to grow and we are able to witness it!

Makeup geek didnt push codes, they were made in the US, quality products, good ingredients. They didnt slam out products and pay youtubers to push them. People gave bad reviews without being scared of backlash, MUG is a real brand, not like Morphe. I dont feel they are compareable. Thats just my opinion though.

It's Just Liz i think some of the hate comes from the fact that they're private labeled (you can get the 35O eyeshadow palette on aliexpress). They charge so much for something that you can get somewhere else cheaper (then again this is called business). Part of the hate ia because some famous youtubers like to shove their discount code on their subscribers throats. I could go on and on about this. But to be honest, i don't really care about morphe. I have some of their brushes and they're okay. I could get the same brushes somewhere else by set and a lot cheaper. I haven't picked up anything yet from morphe since their rebranding (maybe in the future my opinion will change)

ghgmary yea I got that exactly palette from ali express and it caused a serious irritation to my eyes 😕 so that was a fail. Then I went to morphe and got the 3502 and I've been in love ever since. and as far as discount codes go, I live for those because who doesn't want a discount? 🤷🏽‍♀️ lol I look forward to those because it helps me save. I feel like morphe is amazing for the price and quality. As long as they keep dropping new items, I'll be purchasing. I haven't been disappointed yet and I own A LOT of morphe

It's Just Liz if you live in the US morphe is really cheap. However, i live in asia and mostly rely on 3rd party sellers so they jack up the price esp that JH palette. Imo, some people felt that many youtubers were biased towards morphe because they get commissions every month. I do get the point that morphe is a great brand for makeup starters, but when you start hearing someone comparing morphe to some establish brands it makes me raise my eyebrows

Honestly the coverage of the foundation fits a TON of people and it does run deep! It’s soooo good and light by the time I finish my concealer and makeup my face looks full coverage.

Morphe is not THAT inexpensive. As a broke college student, $15-20 for a makeup brush is HIGH for me.... that's gas money. I get all my brushes from ELF and they're just as good of quality. Morphe is not inexpensive... it's just not high end. However, I LOVE this look. It makes your eyes look so green which makes me want it bc my eyes are the same color!!!! I also really enjoy cool tones on you even though you don't wear them often, they look AMAZING on you when you do wear them! :) (in older videos.)

I know my boyfriend was randomly filming me while I was doing my makeup (he was being silly) and later when I was watching I had no idea which brushes I was using. This look is gorgeous, but I 100% understand the hatred for Morphe lol. It would be fine if they were just marketed as a good cheap brand but influencers go on and on about how its as amazing as high end makeup and then the product is basically drugstore formula. So yeah, great price point, but I was always disappointed with my purchases because it's totally overhyped.

Diany Martinez I’m glad you’ve had a good experience, but I also own multiple palettes and brushes and have been disappointed with every single product. I actually prefer drugstore brands to Morphe. NYX is a great one, and BH Cosmetics comes at a similar price point too.

I completely disagree. Some people sent know quality. They assume just because it is more expensive it means better quality. The fact that morphe can do it affordably really should make people question how are these "high-end" brands stealing our money basically with a equal quality shadow. To each is own though.

I own close to two dozen of morphe brushes and couple pallets and I honestly don't get the hate either as Kathleen mentioned. I love all the products. Especially the eye shadow blending brushes. I won't be purchasing these pallets simply because I barely wear eyeshadows but I like it. Also I love when influencers talk about their discount codes. If I ever were to purchase I know I can save some money. If I dont buy I dont but someone out there at any given moment can use the code so 5 second mention isnt something I have the right to get mad about.

Bro those smell amazing. They literally smell exactly like hot chocolate. I have Dose of Cocoa and I about died when I smelled it in store. And they stay on FOREVER. I swatched one by literally putting a dot on my hand. I didn't scrub it to make it come off when washing my hands or in the shower or anything and it literally stayed on for 5 days and only came off when I spent all day in the pool. It's insane. I'm actually wearing it right now.

Seriously, though! I'm not bullshitting you at all! At first, they're a little sticky and they take a while to completely dry down but I would still recommend them to anyone. They're not too drying, either. So that's a plus!

Those shadows don't seem to blend well at all, I mean I know they are green shades so they can't really blend into your skin color or anything like that but I've seen many videos now and I don't know they don't look blended in any video I see! I LOVE this look! These tones are beautiful! The Jaclyn Hill x Morphe collection is the BEST pigmented eyeshadow I've ever used! I still use my Morphe x KathleenLights palette! It's one of my favorites & I wish it was still available so I could talk about it and use it in more of my tutorials! 😍😍

Kathleen, the reasons we hate morphe is because I want cheap eyeshadows too but the shipping cost Morphe adds on to Sydney Australia is like $30 for a palette that is light as a feather. I want cheap makeup too and seeing influencers say how good the products are makes me wanna buy it, but I am NOT spending $80 Australian dollars on a palette with cheap ass ingredients made for $2 when they profit like $70. How do they sleep at night? Kinda rude and all we hear is uSe mY CodE

I wouldn’t even call it hate it’s a dislike for me honestly. The thing I dislike is how people who push morphe act like it’s the best thing since sliced bread. Are they good for the price? Sure, I guess, but everyone acts like they’re up there as some brands that have amazing quality products for the cheapest price and they just don’t. Maybe in the beginning sure but now we have more options like colourpop no one hates on colourpop. Morphe got as big as it did with basic not so great products in the beginning because of the lies and misleading statements made by beauty influencers. That’s where my dislike comes from. Have they improved and rebranded their products? Allegedly, they did but at this point I just don’t care to purchase anything from them 🤷‍♀️ if I want great quality at a really good price I’m gonna go to colourpop.

Amen to this! They are cheap BUT you can buy the same exact private labeled palletes for even cheaper because morphe has to up their price to pay all their youtubers. I don't mind the codes, who doesnt want to save money? But morphe is not the end all be all brand. They are good for their price. I wish jaclyn would have alligned herself with another brand she had something good with becca but probably ended up getting a bigger cut of the profits by going with morphe. I also cant stand now that jaclyn has something to sell shes back on social media and making videos a little more regularly. She said she hasn't talked about her own code in a long time...but she also rarely puts out videos so how can you push a code when you are absent. I want to support Her but I can't do the morphe thing and then the sudden videos to sell people the pallette thing and then the hype and the sudden "sell out" and the magical "restock." I just can't! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

KathleenLights YES I do love my teeth. I got lucky and only needed treatment for about 9 months, but the pain trying to get the trays off and on was the worst. Lots and lots of Tylenol and Tylenol PM to sleep at night. My ortho had an option to get retainers for life and I highly recommend doing that if your ortho has that choice too.

these shadows looked so patchy, muddy, hard to work with and chunky when you applied them wet :/ you did a really great job of making it work but it would be nice to hear your honest opinion about it, even if it is an influencer collab! i’ve seen consistently through most reviews that the quality is mediocre at best, but a lot of influencers are either ignoring that or pretending that they’re better than they are and i can’t help but wonder why..

Lol rather get Colourpop than Morphe (at least Colourpop's products are made in the USA). Morphe is just shoved way too much down our throats. It used to be worse but there's youtubers that use mainly high end products but use Morphe brushes and flash their Morphe code on the screen? Giiirrrrllll....

hickchicklori It’s incredible, isn’t it? I was afraid of the Alamar palette, because I’m a novice when it comes to eyeshadow. I watched Gabby on insta the other day, and tried to follow her exactly, and it worked wonders, blended out beautifully, and I LOVED the look. Such lovely shadows.

I've never really had a problem with cheaper shadows or Morphe in general because if it doesn't speak to me, I just won't get it. I get super overwhelmed by the 35 shade palettes, limited space and now I have enough shadows to last me for awhile. I will say that I can't wait for the reviews because I love seeing how people use the different shades for their eye shapes! Happy for JH and Morphe but probably won't purchase at this moment.

I agree. I love eyeshadow, but the one problem with Morphe (not with these little palettes, but the normal ones) is that there's just way too much of a similar shade happening... I don't need 7 matte mid-tone browns in one palette, for example. That being said, my little sister bought the Jaclyn Hill original palette and she loves it.

I've heard so many positive things about the original JH palette. It just doesn't suit my life right now. Nothing more, nothing less! 2018 seems to be a purge for a lot of people and it's refreshing to see people's declutters. I think those videos are more influential to me than a first impression. If you have that much makeup and you keep specific items on purpose, not just because they were gifted and they're the "hot trend"...that means more to me!

Despite my sister's high recommendation, the JH palette is not something I'll be picking up any time soon. I have been trying to have only stuff I use, and I am weird...I feel obligated to basically hit pan and use up as much of a palette as possible before I move on! I need to put a bigger dent in my current palettes before I feel like I can justify a new one.
