Ummm No! Those were not SU's arrangements. Those were arranged by Blake Gaines and Kelly Fanning. True we use to play SU's arrangements but when Ellis took over we began to get away from other folks music and make our own. I just wish some folks (SU) would give credit where its due and admit you got handled that game and wasnt expecting MBC to be any compitition.
b/c it's an SU home game and the crowd don't want anybody comin in there blowin. Don't worry, I know alot of people from SU and believe me Morris Brown got their respect.
Wow Morris brown was the best BRING THIS SCHOOL BACK PLEASE I FELL IN LOVE WITH THEY BAND WHEN I FIRST CAUGHT THEM ON DRUMLINE THEY SHOULD HAVE NEVER DID THIS TO THE HBCU COMMUNITY..
@@jamal2010 Oh ok but do you think they would ever get the funding they need to get back like they used to be, I want to see them battle again against other schools
To be the best band ever, you should actually do precision drills. Not just march next to one another up and down the field and to concert formation. I like your sound, but you need plenty work on the field. I've got many more drills to post for you to see what a real drilling band looks like. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mMkXFGgQD-k.html
Comes a time when reality sets in. It's when you discover a band that drills a lot better than yours. What's so hard to accept is that there's video evidence of it, both of your band and of theirs. Degree of difficulty matters when judging precision drills. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jxRWZLKGe70.html
exactly!!!!...cause u know me and a lot of other ppl often sometimes forget that SU is everyones fav band!!!...well, its not our fault that "a band like MBC" was more than what some ppl like yourself was expecting...if no one ever gave MBC props on their overall performance, u wouldnt even be here commenting on this video....just pains u that "a band like MBC" was more appealing than SU
I don't think that will EVER come to fruition. I'm sure Fort Valley is a good school, but if MBC wouldn't rent a room at Clark when it was first founded, then I don't believe they will join with Fort Valley.
I'm not completely oblivious to the history of my school or any of the other schools in the AUC... I know Blake Gaines was the band director at Morehouse in the early 90's. But, Morehouse didn't play G-Power when he was there...I've seen plenty of footage of y'all when he was there. And that's the only period when y'all could've been considered a force. But, what's funny is how you're trying to give me a history lesson on something I already know, lol.
You idiot. G-Power was written by Blake Gaines. He was the band director at Morehouse in the early 90’s. He went to MBC after he was at Morehouse. He took that fanfare to MBC. FYI, when he was at Morehouse…MBC took a huge loss. I’m sure there’s a vid somewhere on RU-vid.
No, Morris Brown will still be in Atlanta. The school would just be under the University System of Georgia and an extension of Fort Valley State. Right now, it's just speculation and an idea to save one of our sister HBCU in the state of Georgia. But, many are listening to my alma mater's president and feel that this may work to save MoB. Fort Valley would just oversee academic and the functionality of the college.
they were big , other than the very beginning , all you hear is tubas. Give them credit for the salute to Doc. If you're a Juke Fan this performance should look very familiar. My recollection............the band and the football team took an "L". Jags won 49-29 !!!
Well. if you're from Atlanta and know all about my school(since you say I need to know the history of my school). you would know that we have done the halftime score before. marched in the Rose Bowl parade twice. and have done numerous other achievements. Moreso than anything Morehouse has done. And for you to bring up our accreditation situation. is like beating a dead horse. Everyone knows about that. so if you think that's an insult. try that on someone else.
Well, it's MoB's decision. They will continue to struggle. They will cause their own existence. But, hopefully, they will do what needs to be done to stay open. It being the recession and all they will be hard pressed to get any funds to clear off their debt. At FVSU, we were only throwing out a suggestion and assistance, more than anyone else outside of Tom Joyner & Oprah has done to keep the school open. Just assisting our Sistah GA HBCU...
I don't have to look up Cedar Grove "bruh", I already know what your former high school is about...Blasting notes and trying to sound like SU. Then, as if you don't know, y'all played some of our arrangements from 2000-2001. I was in the thick of it, so I know what I'm talking about. Whatever you say holds no ground here, partna!
Keep Watching and Let Your Mind Be Free are not copyrighted by SU. And if they are. than FAMU is trying to be like SU by playing Do What You Wanna. and TnSU is trying to be like FAMU by playing Say La La. If you're going on our past field shows. try looking up patterns and motions. then come talk to me. I've seen FAMU & SU do a field show that looks just alike and you don't hear anyone saying they're trying to be like each other. Like I said before. whatever you say holds no ground here.
@mrwright82 Being a FAMU fan I know that TnSU played Say La La before FAMU so did Howard, Plus FAMU and SU do what you wanna is way different in arrangements but hell people say that MoB got arrangements from TnSU. It's noting new people always trying to clown MoB for arrangements because MoB use to wax that ass, hell Ellis took"Spotlight Groove" over to SCSU, and yes I was at this game I was in the 7th grade at Miller Grove Middle.
This is what I Dega would be, that hybrid version of Southern, buuuuuuut they are still lacking there own identity in my opinion. I'm still a fan of old Morris Brown
MBC will come back, but as under a new name. Morris Brown of Fort Valley State University. If the BOT and the University of System of Georgia takes control of it. :-)
And what bands has Morehouse ever went up against for you to even formulate an opinion saying they MBC can't handle SU or TxSU? Exactly! First, get your program up to par before you speak about mine, garrickbrim.
wow 2 replies...must've struck up some buried hate in u, but i digress...lol u got to be kiddin...ur judgin past performances, ok...lets go there....su vs ncat 03(slaw) su vs jsu 06(t-pets slaw)..u kno what...su whole band is slaw(sarcasm)...because of some of those lackluster performances i now declare them as slaw..smh.. who broght up the "blew su out" thing..u did...MBC is a great band even at their current size they sound good...and im going to leave it at that...
First off...you all's Mumford reasoning is all wrong. The Nation does not boo if you're doing really good. Where the camera is...the fans are not stupid. If you suck, ain't blow'n, or disrespect the "S" somehow...they'll know, and they'll boo. 9outta10 times...there's a reason. Ain't got isht to do with a band being so good that the crowd boos. The Nation has ALWAYS cheered a band that's bringing it. Period "S"
w/e dude...ur mission is to hate and post on all of their clips. yea i seen it...lmao if they sound so bad why are u still goin to the clips..if they are that BAD, why waste ur time trying to explain to me how i shouldnt like them above all other bands?..deep down inside u know im right, thats why...lol u dont want me preaching..MBC is one of the best marching bands to ever grace a stadium with their presence, and nothing u say can sway me from that b/c ive seen, heard, ect. them in person also
ur completely delusional if he think SU puts on better field shows...lmao...thats something u dont here everyday...sub-par?...thats ur opinion...different instrumentation...different sound...but u knew that...its all personal preference
MBC drill was clean, not even gonna go there....i dont agree that this was there best performance, but ur trying to down play MBC as if they were some mediocre band that had nothing to bring to the table...check their clips...they're all over youtube...some amazing, some average...size has nothing to do with...there are bigger bands out there who wouldnt "get the crowd"...ur argument is null and void...ppl like them because of what they brought to the table..
