But world importance? Nah. Farm animals are largely all man made, no meat, no cows, chicken, sheep, goats, pigs even existing anymore. Like maybe in zoos or Sanctuaries, but PETA wants those animals flat out extinct.
I was at his concert in Hull recently. I sobbed watching Meat is murder. I saw other people's faces who were shocked too. There were animal rights campaigners there handing out leaflets. I am already a vegetarian but I sure would have become one after that concert if I wasn't. So he is doing something positive and productive to help.
Vegetarian is already a great pass, vegans do not understand that mostly of the time. They do not need to be bashed they are bashed too from meat eaters.Vegetetarians do not eat things that died directly.I know that by going vegans you help calfs indirectly.
They recently made a Twitter post saying don’t call people a chicken because it’s offensive to the chicken ffs 🤦♂️ ❄️ like actually doing things for animal rights is alright but actually saying things like milk causes autism and milk is cow pus and milk actually is bad for your bones that’s bad
Brick Schitthouse Yes I am well aware of humans being omnivores but we do NOT need to eat meat to survive. There is one big difference to an animal killing another animal becsuse it has too to survive than us factory farming an animal cos we like the taste, factory farming has nothing to do with nature and it is very cruel, so yes I stopped eating meat because I am compassionate
Brick Schitthouse humans do NOT need to eat meat. That is a simple fact. If they did, all the millions of vegans and vegetarians in the world would no longer be alive. I'm almost 50, I haven't eaten meat/fish for 35 years or dairy/eggs for 5 years and I ran 20 miles in 3 hours 30 minutes 2 days ago. Feel like I'm doing okay!
When Morrisey said broccoli spears at McDonalds...I thought he was saying that they were now selling veggies! But later on in the interview I got that he was talking about Brittany Spears...well I just laughed out loud! I love Morrisey...what a thoughtful, intelligent, well spoken man!
Morrissey is perhaps my favorite human being. I've undergone an incredible change in my perspective towards many things in life during this "pandemic". Things i never cared about like politics, books, animal rights, abortion, vegetarianism, etc matter a great deal to me now. I'm so glad to know morrissey shares the same views as me on just about everything
"Broccoli Spears" Hahahahaha!!!!! But for real, while I am against the meat industry and glad to see organizations like PETA standing up to this issue, I am also critical as to how they carry out their types of protests. Some of the things they do are almost militant and I don't know if they're going about their protesting in the right way. Viva Moz!
@@ame2706 no we point it out because it’s hypocritical when you eat livening things and say it’s okey just because you prefer not to be at others fucking dumbass
@@j0an-07-arc6 are u literally?? out of ur mind?? please enlighten me how it’s hypocritical to not eat meat but eat plants instead. they don’t have a nervous system nor a brain. brother r u okay?
Now this is why I love Morrissey! Everything he says is so true... To me, killing an animal is just the same as killing a person, too bad there are still so many people who don't realize that there is no difference at all :(
I am so happy that people like Morrissey are dedicate to the protection of animals. It is so important for people to care about living things other than human beings (even though we are animals ourselves) You tell em Moz!
Respect to the guy for devoting so much of himself in trying to raise awareness. I cannot imagine eating meat or having the mindset of taking a life just for the perceived pleasure of a meal or a snack. I think like Morrissey, it will be one of the things that I take to my grave as not being able to relate to in any way. There is a certain innocence in animals that contrasts against the selfishness and calculated evils of humanity.
thanks! i was trying to understand why he was inspiring people to go vegetarian and i now see this as a good stepping stone. I could not have gone vegan in a day unless forced and without his MIM album perhaps it may have took many more years for me to realise something was wrong with my view on food. it is a big(yet positive) change to make in anyone's life particularly after been brought up as a meat eater, thanks for your input. peace : )
Surely, though, you are somewhat glad that Morrissey, in his position of influence, will doubtlessly have saved the lives of a great number of animals. I, for one am considering vegetarianism after seeing this.
That's wonderful, I'm glad that this interview has touched you. Have you listened to Meat Is Murder? There's a documentary that Morrissey plays on the back drop screen during Meat Is Murder at his shows. It's called Meet Your Meat (it's on RU-vid) if you're really brave you can watch Dominion but be prepared, maybe have a valium put aside if you get extremely distressed, I'm being serious, it's horrific, anyway, just in case you're interested. Best wishes in your endeavor to go veggie. Don't worry if you fuck up, it's like quitting smoking, you might give in at first until you discover all the vegetarian options and recipes available! And don't let meat eaters make you explain yourself if you're not up to it ... They are very defensive and argumentative!
I saw The Viper Room and peta, I wonder if he knew River Phoenix, they would have had a lot in common and I would think have a lot to offer the world together, since they did share the same passions and interests!
Vegetarians can obtain all of the essential amino acids by eating a wide variety of non-animal proteins. Combining plant proteins will ensure that whatever amino acid is low or absent in one source will be provided by another.
a steak has 0% vitamin C. Meat has NO vitamins. Humans can't absorb the iron in the cow blood properly. If you eat Kale or other good veg you absorb the vitamins in higher doses than eating meat. When the meat industry adds flesh preservatives it also tries to 'preserve' human flesh which causes healthy cells to turn cancerous. They admit that eating just two sausages a week will increase your chances of developing cancerous cells by 25%. Most meat eaters eat much more than that per week.
I eat meat and dairy. I also support Morrissey's stance on vegan-only foodstuffs at The Live Earth June concert. It is a small request that makes a big statement. My question would be including banning cooking insects? Now that would be a statement right there: a food catering company at The Live Earth concert that served grasshopper burgers.
When you go through equine vet school you have to go on a walking tour of a slaughterhouse. I personally know 2 vets that stopped eating meat after their tour. One said it was the cattle holding pens and the other said it was the kill room floor. One of the vets said , "if people only knew"
Morrissey you really are the most down to earth well spoken person out there. There is no need to eat meat in the world we live in today, we have evolved and there is plenty of other food out there that will meet all of our nutritional needs. Have more empathy people!
All you got is that electrical signals are sent to your brain when food touches your tongue. The fruit and veg taste wipes out with no effort the taste of meats. The meat businesses know this themselves and that's why they add fruit and veg to meat dishes for improvement. Potato, fried, mashed, boiled etc is probably everybodies fav food.
That's just semantics. Let me put it another way then: there are doubtlessly a great number of animals enjoying (or have enjoyed) a longer life thanks to Morrissey's activism. Morrissey is just not as far along as you yet. It's hard to give up certain pleasures.
I love that he refuses to divulge the names of his cats. Such a silly question, when the emphasis is on animal welfare it's really stupid of her to waste the time an opportunity to ask a much more serious question, good of him for refusing to engage in a petty conversation.
Cows have been bred to be slaves. The calf that the milk was intended for is usually slaughtered, hence the mother cows milk needs to be extracted or it causes pain.
It's actually so easy to stop eating other animals because the meat industry themselves and meat businesses like burger king/kfc etc actually put vegetables in their dishes already and sell fruit so people started on meat diets without their consent aka everybody merely increase the amount of veg while decreasing the amount of meat over time it's very easy to do.
How weird that The Viper Room & Peta are together on that wall, considering River Phoenix was a major animal rights activist and did commercials for Peta, and died outside The Viper Room. Was this Peta event at The Viper Room?
Firstly, thank you for your response. Secondly, I agree - eating meat is a freedom and it's a freedom we're all entitled to, very much like religion in a way. I understand though. You have your reasons for eating meat and I have mine for not so really, beyond that, as long as we're both happy with the choices we make then anything else is of little relevance? And I can see your point about PETA, but could I reason with you and say perhaps the only way they can make a stand is via their methods?
Morrissey is 100% right, I have been a fan of his for 25 years, and thanks to him I became a vegetarian years ago. We as humans have no right to take animals lives for our own twisted need to eat meat, how can you kill and eat something that can love you. . In reality WE DO NOT NEED MEAT TO SURVIVE, it is a choice. Its so heartbreaking to know how millions of innocent animals over the years have suffered because of cruel, selfish, stupid, humans, and its not just the cows pigs and sheep, In china they have the yearly Yulin festival, where they slaughter and eat thousands of dogs, and this corona virus which originates from a live animal market in Wuhan china that sold baby wolves, donkeys, fox, and other animals for consumption. shame on these ASSHOLES and shame on the ASSHOLE chinese government for letting this go on for so long.. These people that are doing this to these animals deserve to get sick and die but unfortunately... this is also affecting innocent people.
If you're a vegetarian or vegan that also means you're obligated to respect people as much as you do animals. No one forget that. If you are going to protect animals, you should also protect the fellow man.
No animal in this world would ever be killed or abused if people always did a very simple thing: put themselves in the other side's shoes. It's that simple. Don't do to others what you wouldn't want to be done to you...
"PETA is well-known to be arbitary" Yes, which causes problems between decent people when we have to debate on what is really going on. It is confusing , if it wasn't,we would not still be in debate. There are hundreds of thousands of products out there with the "suitable for vegetarian" quote on , which ingredients come from a barbaric industry. so it is a shame, i fell for it . i really thought all products that had that quote were kind and caring. thank you for your insight. :)
I find it ironic that he likened eating meat to "Hitler thriving today"...Hitler was a staunch vegetarian and NSDAP-era Germany was the first nation to enact animal protection and environmental laws. They outlawed vivisection and Himmler even made an effort to try and ban hunting. P.C.s take note - this is all well-documented and easy to find. ;)
? Was that Just for Laughs Gag supposed to do something?, Because it didn't. And I bet you didn't even know that Just for Laughs is from Québec, and that the gags are made in Montréal (and it's surroundings)... And I live next to Montréal.
I find it somewhat ironic that he equates the meat industry to Hitler, considering Hitler himself was a vegetarian and supporter of animal rights. I'm certain Hitler would support Morrissey's advocacy wholeheartedly if he were alive. Morrissey, apologize to Hitler. :)
Hitler was NEVER a vegetarian. The book by his official chef contains meat recipes, he only used this to become popular like Ghandi. He NEVER was an animal rights supporter, he beat his own dog.
Ireland introduced laws in 1635 prohibiting pulling wool off sheep, and the attaching of ploughs to horses' tails. Descartes was campaigning for animal rights in 1641. If you need a German influence, read Kant. He reminds me of you but education may not be your thing.
god over twenty years later and this still holds true. mcdonald's doing the travis scott meal, bts meal, etc. it's the same thing!!! there are plenty of things to criticize morrissey for, but when people denounce him for his views on animal rights, i can't help but feel they're only deflecting. people love to shit on vegans to avoid having to think critically about what they're putting in their bodies
Your body won't feel deprived as long as you eat vegetables and fruits and basically just healthy organic meals. For instances broccoli has just as much protein as meat does and it has less cholesterol and zero grams of fat. And there are many other vegetables like that.
He has a very good grasp of the Law of Correspondence. I respect that immensely. As above, so below. Humanity is over due for harvest. Karma’s a bitch.
