I looking to see AI taking on CW. It could figure ot the it was a AN sent not a P as the human operator ran AN together. It could fill in missing characters based on what was received and based on the context of the sentence. These error corrections could be highlighted so one would know how it is fixing the copy

One that I use and is FREE is CW Decoder. It works well with my Icom 7300. Thanks for your video.

Uncle Vinny, hope you can answer, just discovered thos great video. -I have an IC718 too and Signalink (and the MFJ941 tuner too) how do you have your rig set up to use CW Get/Type with keyboard? Do you have a USB to radio connection? Thanks for any help. de WO8USA

Ugh! Hate to answer like this but the truth is these little modules are just not quite ready for prime time. They are touchy and crash often. I finally decided not to pursue it, relying instead on learning code in my head. Good luck!

I am looking for a decoder that will do the following: It needs to "Hear" the tone generated by my Xiegu X 5150 (with QSK OFF...code practice mode) It needs to analyse my dits, dahs, space between characters, and space between words for correct timing. It needs to compare my transmission with the PERFECT characteristics in its database for generated characters. It needs to have a operator defined DIVERGENCE PERCENTAGE to allow for the human factor of in-exactitude. Sort of like a squelch control on fm. Essentially, humans cannot send PERFECT code so the operator needs to be able to decide on what percentage is acceptable quality for divergence from the perfect standard. It needs to provide immediate feedback on specific differences between what is transmitted by the operator and what SHOULD have been transmitted..... There are any number of code generating schemes for the learning of transmitted code but, as far as I can find, NOTHING to analyse an operators transmission for quality with a feedback on the operators shortcomings. It surely does seem to me that there is plenty of room for improvement in the "Fists" of CW operators on air.....But no Code Transmission Practice Programs available.... Am I mistaken? Is there something available that I have somehow overlooked?? 73's KF7ZSA, bob

Mmmm! A "heavy" request. I believe many ham receiver rigs have a process in their menus where you can set such specs on the code when you use an electronic keyer - to send code. My experience (limited) is that the code reading programs simply make a best estimate based on the speed of the transmission and the spaces between the dits and dots. I expect a very advanced program would be able to distinguish the nuances you describe, but my best opinion is that you would need to create a dedicated program with original code. I suggest you pose the question to one of the ham radio forums, such as Eham.net. They have a dedicated CW topic.

Is there a app I can run on a android tablet?

I don't think so. The app would have to receive audio and display code at the same time.

Yes, there are several. I use one called Morse Expert. It will get the audio off your Android device's mic. Morse Expert shows a sideways waterfall (riverfall? lol) 73
