It was hype asf up until you play through all the base content. And the only other conen5 confirmed are Guest Characters. Oh, and the release of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 didn't help. Even if that game did low-key flop? It's a thousand times better than MK1

As an FG enthusiasist I want all of the franchises to succeed. NRS is making it very difficult to root for them right now though. With Tekken 8 just around the corner, we owe it to ourselves to check that game out. NRS needs to get their s*it together in the future!

Turning Kuai Liang into Scorpion was the worst decision they made. Why? Why? Who told them that was a good decision? And why does he have Japanese weapons if he's Chinese now? Why did he just so coincidently decide to run to JAPAN and create a clan called the Shirai Ryu and not a clan with a Chinese name? Why is he with Scorpion's wife? Thats even way worse? Why does he look like Hanzo? AND WHY IS HANZO NOW SOME ORPHAN IN TRAINING??
Its like the focused more on the story and the looks of the characters and the way that they act but they just forgot to make sure that the gameplay is actually well playable without people having to worry about this type of stuff and the characters being unbalanced

I feel like the reason WHY it fell off was because of the lack of content. There’s barely any DLC skin packs or skins in general compared to X and 11, you feel me? Another thing is the update schedule and the item shop refresh…don’t get me started on that😭 it deadass takes approximately 2 weeks to refresh istg, I can find a loyal gf in the span of 2 item shops. But throughout all this bs the game can still be saved.
Same for me. They just shoehorned him Hanzo's entire life and legacy, while making Hanzo into some homeless orphan. It also makes no sense that Kuai (a Chinese man) is using Japanese weapons and runs off to Japan to start a Japanese clan. They're also trying to force this whole "rage" aspect on him (as seen in Raiden's ending) while Kuai as a character has never been about that and has always been more calm and collected, even at a younger age he was never defined by his rage. Hanzo's rage was understandable and made sense considering all he lost and was forced to go through. Kuai's supposed "rage" is a joke compared to that.

But who knows, I think Tekken will win this year for fighting game of 2024, but time will tell for sure if they can try to fix the problems but I do agree with what you said about MK11 being the best game.
The only time I see MK1 is when I'm scrolling through YT shorts, killing my attention span, and either seeing a clip of someone getting caged or Geras blowing someones back out

Off the top of my head let me list reasons this game might be doing badly: >Unbalanced characters, even months after release. Dont get me STARTED on Sereena. >Games massive. Like 150GB massive. When youre bored or want a new game, chances are youre gonna delete this first. >Despite its size, its small! There was a LACKING amount of content on release, and its still got jack shit going for it. I got the platinum trophy the second they dropped a Titan Battle! Hopefully they learn and increase their story-stuffs (and downsize the size) for MK2. Graphics shouldn't be a priority!
The whole omni man gear thing makes me wish they had taken some ideas from other games they made like injustice 2 and had added gear you can unlock through leveling or playing online or playing invasions and the gear system would work like injustice 2 with the gear having certain perks and stat upgrades😭
To be honest I was hyped for Mk1 and since I saw Netherrealm started charging so much just for a fatality I started losing interest and Demi I would love to see u beat 6arakin's ass the guy lost to Mike then after started talking crap the guys ego is so high and he uses the same combos every time love your videos demi🤙
lol they still have data frames way off in the practice menu for some characters like tanya. Says he f2 1 1 2 is plus 15. I that was the case that all you need to do to win with infinite pressure. It also stay that startup frames is 1.
I would rather get shot than apologize to mk11 while it had the most customization skill was chip damage keep away and break away mk1 is basically the same as 11 but took away free customization and added cameos which is an assist and break away
Truth be told I don’t even hate the game like that. I mean that cameo mechanic pisses me all the way off but the game still looks pretty fun. I’ll just wait for the price to go down.
Warm greetings from Germany. I just discovered your RU-vid channel. I love MK1 and still actively play it, but I completely agree that something needs to change. The way NRS is currently dealing with MK cannot continue and must urgently stop. Hopefully that will change with the Story DLC. I'm really disappointed in NRS for the lack of content at the moment. I really hope that things will get better and that in a year or two we will have a great game that can compete with MK11 and X.

Well that bites, I was waiting for this game but barely heard much about it after it released. And I pre-ordered MK11 when that released, there was some hype for it that lasted longer than this. This hurts :/ I was excited to see Bi Han and Smoke return. Damn.
I don’t care to buy MK1 til all the DLC drop and the game is cheap. I played this for free at a convention and I see that there’s less content than MK11 and not as challenging as MKX. I don’t like kameo characters either

imo 4 things caused the mortal kombat series to fall off 1 rebooting the series while acknowledging the events of the old timeline instead of just rebooting it completely 2 lazily killing off fan favorites in mk9's story mode 3 bringing back beloved characters in story mode and not having them be playable and not even available as dlc such as Sindel and Baraka 4 dragging their feet in bringing back fan favorites and the ones that are brought back are retconned to the point where it is too damn big to ignore. For example when Kabal was announced in MK11 I was hoping they would still acknowledge that he joined the defenders of earthrealm but they threw that out the window
I wouldn't say it fell off i think it's just after how the game launched and currently there's a desync problem (which is why i stopped playing for a little bit) but overall i still love the game they just need to fix certains things Edit: i feel like if they were give dlc characters skin you would either have to pay or do something to get said skin since i think it's already known you get dragon Krystals (Ingame premium currency) on those characters so you would have to play a base game character enough to get said premium skins i got the johnny cage one just from playing it did took awhile tho😂

Speaking of guest characters, I can't help but feel like Mk1 is made simply because of guest characters, like the game doesn't get much attention until Omni Man was released, then Quan Chi isnt stirring up much attention. Also them immediately teasing Peacemaker at the end just rubbed me the wrong way, they are SPOILING us, I remember in Mk11, they actually kept us waiting for the guest characters and they delivered, here its like they are relying on the guest character hype, the OG characters arent cared much for
Mk11 had so MUCH more customizable shit and i still havent evenr unlocked em all for my main, which is spawn because to this moment im still missing two, character towers were fun as hell to do because it rewarded you for your commitment to that said character and not to mention the actual challenges for fun to do and the krypt rewarded you just buy playing and doing towers and whatever and now that's completely removed and now the rewards are randomized now we have a shop with sometimes decent rewards that are stuck behind a paywall I remember in mk11 you basically never had to give them any of your money unless it was for actual content and DLC. It's sad how in this game customization is worse than it was in the last game I guarantee they could have just kept how it works and everything would be great. But now you got the budget krypt and character ranks and now its hard to rank up your fighters and ESPECIALLY your kameos Which unlock brutalities and fatalities and taunts and shaders and now most fighters barely even got nothing but like 3 skins. Mk11 was just better in every way
Honestly, I know in a fighting game the story doesn’t matter all that much. But for me it does because of how much I like these characters. Especially in the trailer when they show there could be tension between Raiden and Kung Lao.
I was super hype for mk1, but after playing it at launch I couldn’t even play til the first dlc. I played the story and a little of invasions but it just wasn’t it, I remember just running towers in mkx and 11 and I stood on them both outclassing mk1 from the jump and no one wanted to believe me for months lol😂 this don’t bode well for injustice 3 🤦🏽♂️
MKX is the superior game. Over MK11 and MK9. They should’ve just built on it instead of scrapping all of it. Mk11 had the stupid breakaways and crushing blows.

Netherrealm rushed the game I will never spend 100$ again. I payed more for less I do believe that the game can comeback but only at the end of it's lifespan they have potential to make a great game but rushing it and getting dlc to keep the game relevant is crazy I blame WB more than netherrealm.
It's so ass. The last good MK game was MK9 & the last okay one was MKX. No Mortal Kombat will ever top Deception in my opinion. It was stacked with content & content that was actually fun.
From the beginning I wasn't sold on this game. Everyone was on the hype train for MK1 like they didn't just give us some half baked story and hardly working frame data on MK11 and then dumped over hyped DLC characters to cover it up. MK1 fell hard.
