I do like how Liu Kang and Kitana don't flirt in this game. She may be Kitana, but she's not HIS Kitana. She has different experiences, and they made her a different person. To pursue her would make him unfaithful to the one he shares all those precious memories with. Which is why he and Titan Kitana began making out almost immediately.
I think we'll still Liutana with this Kitana, just a differen Liu Kang. And, yes, I do agree it is good he stayed faithful (guess, we could use this term, though he probably wouldn't have had they not made it into the multiverse of some sort, and would, too, be ok) to his Kitana, 'cause this Kitana will probably have her Liu Kang eventually (I mean, yes, Raiden borrowed one of Liutana's lines, but she wasn't that impressed, and in the intros it still seems like she has a crush on Liu Kang, even though they don't flirt or anything, she's genuinely curious about him and the titan versions of them, whereas with Raiden she shuts him down and, even though she admittedly respects him, she doesn't appear to show any signs of interest, therefore we'll probably get the new Liutana🫠)
So this Kitana knows about Liu Kang being with her Titan counterpart. Asks questions to Geras about Liu Kang. It seems this Kitana is curious about Liu Kangs history and what was up with him. The fact she noticed Liu Kang and Titan counterpart probably raised questions to Kitana about other versions of herself in previous timelines. Maybe I'm looking into it too much but i find it funny she just noticed things about Liu Kang and you wouldn't notice because it's not his Kitana. Dang !
I think Ed Boon will make her character more interesting. New Kitana might be faliing in love with Fire God Liu Kang which is forbidden. She might turn evil attempting to get the Titan powers to be with Liu Kang or something like that. There's a lot of possibility now.
@@spiderhulk26 there cannot be. But it is said timelines are left intertwined, meaning a Liu Kang might get in the timeline from any other one (I'm rooting for Kitana's, for obvious reasons). Also, there's no good reason to say Liu's no longer immortal, so he'll die and, as a titan, won't ever be ressurrested again until it's again all over again, unless they're planning on bringing another Liu to the story. And there's no sense in making Raiden more Raiden if he's supposed to take Liu's place in the timeline forever. It's the storytelling poin x logic x hope for me.

Yep I think this is going to play out in the next game, She is asking a WHOLE lot of questions about Liu Kang, history shows that a woman doesn't ask that many questions about a man unless she's really interested in him

And, as an author, or just an attentive person, I norice there's the ground work laid for human Liutana to exist as well as titan Liutana (well, until the point Liu dies, I mean. And it looks like he's retired). But, anyways, for now those are just opinions
@jz-kf4rj it's not a head canon, but a theory, respectfully. I'm fully aware the Liu Kang is a titan and I would never want him to be with abyone but his Kitana. However, I don't think I have it in me to again go into the details about the "human Liutana" theory. Neither do I think you wsnt me to, so haw about we just agree to disagree for now and then wait and see
@jz-kf4rj head canons aren't theories, they're basically ideas one has that can very well be in the thing the head canon is about, but theories are more of something one think might happen at some point. Not on sometimes in the universe taken, but as an event which we're yet to see (and, if we don't, it wrong), whereas a head canon doesn't need to be confirmed ever and can still exist as the reality for the universe. Long story short, theories can be wrong, while head canons cannot. I'm not saying this id the thing that happens behind the curtains. I'm saying, this is something that would make total sense (for a set of reasons, which I have no idea if I listed in the particular comment section, but I'm not going to go there, as I assume we have an understanding for agree to disagree), if were to happen, which it might be (or might not be, which makes it into a theory).
Raiden has a crush Kitana in these. But also, in these, Kitana seems to be sorta crushing on Liu Kang. I mean, she had no right to sound that excited when asking Liu Kang about him and the titan Kitana.
I love how some of these interactions are setting up possible future characters, General Shaos brother, Raidens sister, and Kitanas exiled cousin to name a few.
As much as I love Kitana’s love and loyalty towards Mileena I hate the fact that she’s starting to sound like Jade. Her unwavering loyalty seems to take precedent over logic, which is dumb considering the fact that she’s been alive for over 10,000 years.

I think she is mostly loyal to the empire and Mileena just happens to be the firstborn. At the end Kitana acts as Mileena’s advisor since Mileena tends to be a little bit explosive 😂😂😂 Kitana def needs a lot of logic in her role. Totally different from Jade, who was mostly Kitana’s assistant.
To me she finally speaks and sounds like royalty. You can hear the sassiness and authority in her voice finally. You can tell she inherited Sindel’s way of speaking in this timeline
It is mentioned in Mileena and Shao's dialogues that his siblings are Shoda and Tovach which he hates them as they reject him. Question is, Which brother are they refering to?
I thought them cutting down the intros would be a let down, but they still get enough out to tell some interesting stuff, and it seems it give more time and opportunities for more characters to speak.
And then Mileena would play the “scorned sister” role and war against her, and it would have been cliche as f*ck. I’m glad they avoided that garbage. They’re far more interesting on the same side.
The timeline thing is so weird in terms of relationship. Titan Lui Kang still loves Titan Kitana but does not (probably) feel the same way with his timeline Kitana whom Raiden has a crush on.
I think it is they are two different people. And to keep the course of time from messing up he can’t do too much idk. Timelines are strange just ask back to the future the mcu hot tub time machine terminator
At first, I was upset that Kitana was reduced to a jobber, but considering the big roles that she's played in the last games, especially 11, I'm fine that her screen time was sacraficed so characters like Mileena, Baraka and Reptile could thrive. Though, I do think that she'll play a larger part in the sequel.
I don't think Kitana has lost anything here: they are all swooning over her, her mother wishes she was the first born, others tell her that living in Mileena's shadow wastes her potential etc. They are acknowledging her worth in every field no matter what her role might be.
This is done so that Mileena could at least stand out. If they're on equal terms, Mileena will never be able to get out of Kitana's shadow. But it's worth noting that Kitana Titan was great.
Kitana had her moment in the last game, and she was a great support character in this game. She had some good moments in game esp when titan kitana entered the chat. Let other character have their shine!
As much as I love Johnny Cage's Character Growth in the original timeline, I'd really like to see him get together with Kitana in this timeline. I love their chemistry and could only imagine how a Cassie Cage would turn out with those two as parents.
Kitana asking questions about Liu Kang and her Titan counterpart is making me wonder what Liu Kang is like in Kitana's timeline and if he has a crush on Jade or something.
I think it's logical to assume that, if Liu Kang made Kitana into a younger sister to help her avoid becoming an empress and desling with that shit, it is also a fair assumption that Kitana made Liu Kang to not be a part of this whole "protect the earthrealm" club. Plus, I do think he'll appear in the next game?¿? (Or at least I hope, 'cause it's Liutana for life for me, no matter what timeline and state pf being)
@troll_of_ficbook I wouldn't bet the farm on that. This game focused very heavily on the 3D era of characters for its roster(Reiko, Nitara, Tanya, Havik, etc) and seems to follow the plans Liu Kang had after the end of MK11 in his New Era. If Johnny does get with anyone, my best bets would be Sonya Blade once she returns as a playable character, a new female character, or Kitana since this one isn't the one he knows or is familiar with.

Anyone else miss the MK11 intros and victory poses? I love this game so far but the new intros here where they just lean on each other got old after a few hours.
No Jade was loyal to the throne but had other stuff going on like her rivalry with Tanya & relationship with Kotal. They made Kitana a Mileena twitter stan lol. It’s cool to let them love each other but give the Sister without the botched dental plan something else to do.

Their romance isn't denied. Liu and his Kitana (who became a Titan in another timeline) reunited and kiss, and probably visit each others. This Kitana is a new person. Hanzo isn't Scorpion anymore but Smoke's student and a boy, and the wife married previous timeline good Sub Zero (now Scorpion). They are different characters which means new relationships. Theys said Johnny will have a new romantic interest too.
It is nice to see characters talking in the classic MK3 Versus Screen Pose, but I would like to know if in the arcade mode they talk too, or is versus only
