They mean Kitana is being sarcastic and nonchalantly rude in her comments towards her opponents. For example, "The soul of my ancestors are in my sword." Kitana's response: "I probably killed some of them." That would be throwing shade since she's an assassin and has no doubt killed many people.

I love how deriding and haughty they made Kitana in this iteration. She's far outclasses most of her opponents, and you can tell by the condescending way she speaks to the other characters that she knows it. I LOVE IT!!!

I miss this Kitana so much! She was beautiful, graceful yet deadly. I understand why her attitute and personality got hardened in this game, but looking at her MK11 counterpart, I feel she lacks something. I felt she was out of her character by making her too soft and diplomatic. Here you can even tell she's a refined warrior princess and assassin by looking at her clothes. Her MKX voice seems to be sharper and more fierce, traits that I loved but missed in MK11 Kitana.
Agreed. Most if not all voice changes in MK11 were downgrades. The only one I like is Cassie’s new voice mainly bc it fits the cocky/cute vibe they were going for

I feel like Kitana should be like that, I know that many people don't like that she is aggressive, rude and arrogant but seeing her lore it makes perfect sense. Besides that I love her outfit, in Mk1 she does have touches of royalty but here she adds that assassin side. MkX Kitana>>>

Sweetpea Chickpea I feel like this is only half true, I mean majority of the female characters dressing more conservatively make sense depending on thier character. Like Sonya(she military), Jacqui(same as Sonya), Cassie(same as the first 2), Tanya(Ironically her armageddon design was pretty tame). Mileena is the only mkx character that still should of gotten the sexualized treatment somewhat considering that was sorts of her whole sthick. Her beauty being a facade for her tarkatan heritage.
Goro had supposedly been hiding out for decades during the time skip instead of helping stop the Outworld Civil War or anything else that happened. That's why she called him a coward. Her interactions typically assume she was reverted to human soon after the first Shinnok invasion (canonically, she is a revenant and her revenant interactions are more "canon").

I love how she is actually very intent on Liu Kang, she literally tells Kung Lao. When she comes up against Liu Kang she is either upset that he is betraying her or they are merely sparring.
Kitana and Mileena's personality were unique in this game, they wiped out all this attitude in MK11 just to fit each one "The New Empress of Outworld" and "The one who came back for revenge" stigma

I personally prefer MKX dialogues much more. The characters are so brutal and deadly, and make it clear why are they going to fight, unlike MK11, where they do nothing but joking in a friendly manner and complimenting each other, except some characters like Spawn.
I like that she’s meaner in this version. In MK11 they make her too nice and less like an assassin. Also, I like Mileena in this game more too bc they went too much for the monster vibe in MK11 which makes her less threatening imo

Shinnok is a fallen Elder God, he's probably at least 10x older than Kitana. He also looks elderly, to show that he has experience. But he also looks like a corpse because of corruption.
This Kitana will always be my favorite. They made her so soft and gentle in mk11 but I still love her anyways in newer game! Hopefully in Mk12 they will give Kitana her savage personality back🙏🏾
Kitana's character development is SO decent here. She's a boss-ass bitch. In fact, I love a LOT of the female characters in this game. P.S. I really like the dialogue between Kitana and K'otal, for some reason.
