Experience Mortal Kombat's first-ever major expansion. Aftermath features a brand-new cinematic story centered around trust and deceit. Fire God Liu Kang, the new keeper of time and protector of Earthrealm, looks to secure the future he envisions. In order to do so, he is forced to enlist the help of some unlikely allies and familiar foes. Players will have to decide who they can trust and who they must defeat with fate on the line. Forge a new history.

@@khai96x To be fair to Shao Kahn, he did poison Onaga to usurp his throne. Probably finished him off in Kombat while he was poisoned, too. So, yeah, Shao Kahn also knows about deception, but was deceived by someone even more deceptive than even him.

Sadly the Neatherealm writers couldn’t resist suckling him off one last time as they reveal he not only killed Sindel but framed it like a suicide because of “reasons” true they give a “reason” but it’s really vague and there’s no in universe reason it had to happen and hell it didn’t even work as Kahn KNOWS what he did.

Worked out fine for him. The whole revival thing got him just enough trust that the heroes would not kill him, helped Shao Kahn regain power so everyone would get distracted, and he got to backstab everyone in the end, and suck on the power of all major players trough the whole thing. His only fault, getting blindsided by Liu Kang who essentially forsaw the whole thing trough the hourglass. And even there he does end up the winner if the player chooses him. It is really not his fault that everyone else in this universe holds the idiot ball.

That's because evilness is born of selfishness, there's no evil person in life who is humble, an evil guy is always selfish, and he does anything to satisfy his Unsatisfyable self, so he gains any chance to get to whatever he wants, even friendship or alliance to reach his goal but he knows that the other evil guy in his alliance has agenda as well, so it is either to take out his ally and satisfy his greedy self or just wait till the other villain betrays him, and any villain always chooses the first option, that's why there is no such a thing as a villain league.

For some reason, I felt a great closure to the original bad guy trio in MK. To see Shao Khan, Sindel & Shang Tsung rise to reign supreme, is really a treat for me. I mean, it's freaking Shang Tsung man! The original guy from MK movie! He's so iconic (been rooting for this guy ever since) and to see him getting his own arc and even a great ending is really awesome in my lifetime. It makes my MK journey (since the 90's).. komplete. Thank you NetherRealms for making it happen. I don't play the game but I actually care about the characters, and you treat them well with respect. Thank you. - from a long time fan since the 90's.

I look at this Mortal Kombat flashpoint. Mortal Kombat time rules seems to pretty much follow Dc time rules for the most part.

Man, after the Shao Kahn and Sindel, i was hoping that they would be dealt the worst hand. I knew Shang Tsung would get the crown, i knew he was gonna turn on everyone, including Kahn and Sindel. Their demise was very satisfying. Shang Tsung deserved to get his revenge on them.

I liked more of this dynamic between Shao Kahn and Sindel, it shows Shao Kahn cares more then just himself and gives him have a true ally that is Sindel, and more depth Sindel. If they made a new reboot, they could just make Mileena Kitana's half sister.

Here's the thing, this Shao Kahn and Sindel wouldn't know that Shang Tsung would betray them because it's never happened to them, this Shao Kahn is the one from half way through MK9, as for Sindel, if she has all of her memories from being a Revenant and before being a Revenant, she knows that Shao Kahn actually betrayed Shang Tsung near the end of MK9, and since this Shang Tsung was older looking earlier, he obviously isn't from after that event.
