They were right though in that Fujin, Nightwolf, and Shang Tsung all together wouldn’t have been enough to bring down an elder god like Cetrion. Shang Tsung knew what he was doing recruiting Sindel because he knew that no matter what happened he could easily kill her himself once he had the crown.

This entire cutscene was a disappointment to me, we spend the majority of Aftermath talking up the threat of Cetrion only for her to be defeated so easily. Her fight with Sindel is the worst of it as it didn't even make sense I thought the purpose of the close up was to demonstrate her fight and comeback. Nope just so a woman who is casually flying all the time in the game could crash unceremoniously into the ground.

I hate that netherrealm studios went with the "she looks evil so let's make her evil" path. She would be such a more interesting character if she looked "evil" and was actually just misunderstood. They do so many stereotypes is unbelievable hell even cetrion looks good but as soon as she starts acting "evil" (trying to please her mom and be good enough for her no matter the cost) she starts looking evil too all lava style.
