I don´t regret being 27 now cause I got to play all Mk games in the arcade when I was kid, it´s true that playing online is fun but nothing like the feeling of playing in person with other players and seeing their faces when you beat them, the 90´s ruled =)
There was a guy at my local arcade who would sell a list of all the fatalities for $5 and no one knew where he got the list. They were all correct though so nobody cared.
man i was so addicted to the first and second mortal kombat game trying to figure out the fatality's keeping notebooks with all kinds of moves later i created my own mortal kombat guide with a copy machine with pictures of the characters with all the moves next to them these were the times :)
I miss the arcade scene as well. I turn 39 tomorrow and kids today don't know what they missed out on with the arcade scene. We actually went out unlike kids today. There was no internet, there was no social media, dial up was not available in homes as well as internet in general yet. DSL and Cable internet were not around yet. The only cell phones were car phones and if you had one, you were considered rich. Android, IPhone and Windows phones were not around yet. Times were a lot simpler.
i was in peter piper pizza, here in el paso, tx - and i was the smallest one there, crowded around the original MK1 cabinet. when those speakers boomed and the blue sky background went dark, everyone rumbled as though something really cool was going to happen. it was at that point, this skinny kid with glasses did some magic trickery to his end of the controls, and manipulated his character, sub zero, to rip his oponents head off. everyone just screamed afterwards, there were no words.
I grew up with the first three MK games.Played them on various older consoles back in the day. To finally have the arcade ports of these games is nothing short of amazing.Playing these games as a young adult is more fulfilling and brings back a lot of memories of playing these games as a kid.
1993 first time I saw MK1 30 years Later Im Still playing it I cannot forget when I saw it MK1 arcade i was shock when i saw all fatalties Was amazing and i still remenber it I got addicted to up today Jijijiji everything was nice kool awesome was Great
man i just got the arcade kollection on my ps3 and i love it it realy takes me back to the snes and n64 days mann i cant even imagine if they only made one mortal kombat then just made a starwars game
@WINZ0W He worked on a few of the games, he just didn't do a whole lot. They also have two sisters, Tania and Sonya. Yes, both of the characters in MK were named after them, however the i in Tania's name was changed to a y.
VAL Barrera Yeah I dunno I’m twisted on getting one of them. They are super small and cheaply designed. I know they are only $300 but that seems kind of high for one of these...
Why wasn't MK4 released along with the original version of MK3 in the mortal kombat arcade collection? MK4 has been so neglected and ignored over the years, the mame version looks like trash and the ps1 and n64 look horrible also while the dreamcast controller sucks. This collection is incomplete without MK4 and the original version of MK3.
MK4 was made with a chip, "Zeus" by Midway developers. The NRS developers were stupid to not add the original version of MK3. Ed Boon sat next to the arcade cabinet that didn't have the original MK3, instead of UMK3.
Ah back when fighting games weren't all about frame data and buzz words. Fighting games weren't always a lifestyle, there was a time when they were just a game you played with your friends after school.
I Remember When I Was 5 Years Old (I Turned 19 Years Old Today), I Used To Play "Mortal Kombat 4" All The Time In The Arcades, Nintendo 64, Playstation, PC, Game Boy Color, & Dreamcast. I Still Don't Get It Why It's Not Included In "Midway Arcade Treasures" & "Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection"
It just amazes me! They act like these game have never been released on the newer systems!! GIVE ME A BREAK GUYS YOU HAVE RELEASED MK I MK II and MK III ALREADY SEVERAL TIMES!!! BRING OUT MORTAL KOMBAT HD KOLLECTIONS AND STOP BRINGING OUT THE SAME MK GAMES MY HECK!!!!

yes there was internet in 1992 and if you read usenet posts from summer of 92 you will see people discussing and reviewing mk1 and sharing fatalities. God i hate when people dont do their history. especially tech guys like these
@RawrCola I had to double back a couple times, they both had the same color shirt and I first thought he was trolling us. I have played the game since MK1 was in grocery stores and I can't remember hearing about a Mike...
Recently began playing Mk11, and played MkXL ans MkX when those first came out. Graphix were cool.. but i really wasn't a fan of the mid gameplay interruption of bones/Skull crush stab violence that just seemed kinda cheese. And with the Advanced Technology i was hoping for hyper realistic characters, and they seem more Cartoon or Comic Book for my style. I really haven't played any of the versions since MK3 Ultimate on Sega Saturn, and have always hoped for a remastered version of that game with the same kind of Texture mapping of real people...the fighters. Man that, would be so amazing. Did they ever release the HD version of Arcade Collection on XBox360 or PS3?
I only have got one huge complaint about this Arkade Kollection, it's too bloody hard, the easiest difficulty is still on Very Hard. SERIOUSLY it's unplayable.
Its not unplayable you just gotta learn how to play it only times you should be having trouble is when its sub bosses and main bosses Just spam with fire ball and dragon kick with lui kang in mk1 then just spam fan throw with kitana in mk2 and for mk3 use sub zero and spam ice then do a combo.
they could take out the bosses in online mode.... and mk 3 ultimate has infinites also, the agressor meter is good cause in mk3 ultimate many pp in online abuse that unthrowable block and block all the time , the aggressor meter would give a reason not to do that. trilogy has everything mk ultimate has and way more.
4 problems with Mk1 : The sub zero victory screen sum is spelled wrong, Sonya can't fight reptile because block being used in her fatality, when you fight reptile it should say reptile in the health bar not scorpion and last flawless victory should be in green lettering and fatality should be in red lettering. Other than that the Mk1 arcade version is a flawless game. They were just program mistakes by Mr boon and crew.
Are they even going to release it on PS4's PlayStation Store? I haven't gotten a chance to own a PS3 console but Microsoft XBOX 360. Since there's been a lot of issues with the Xbox Live login, I switched over to Sony's PlayStation 4 pro. I think there's some PS3 games were playable on the PS4's console from the PlayStation Shop, why not get Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection release on PS4 Store so we can purchase it and get back to to our old school love playing that classic digital actors in Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection games. I missed them arcade sounds effects trigger while on the selection screen when moving the frame box selector icon. Dam Sony employees who were in the meetings didn't think about returning fans of the Sony's PlayStation first generation owners who just happened to missed it on PS3 console but later got PS4's PlayStation console. they sure make me wanna go back and purchase PS3 console or what. It's like I gotta own both PS3 console and PS4 console just to switch between the two to play their different available games on their own different Sony's PlayStation online Shop. I guess I shouldn't blame Sony coz it's not their fault but the people who works at the studio company who owns the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection games title.
Well I was about to beat the freaking mortal kombat 3 game until my brother and his girlfriend came and said they wanted to watch a fucking christmas movie. So i have to restart the damn thing it fucking sucks.
I don't like what they did with the uppercut sound in mk1 it just sounds downgraded from what it really supposed to sound like and the music is kinda buggy in this version too.
well ed boon, we would all agree with u and ur team in this video, if maybe u FIX THE F*ING GAME already, we would all be soo much more happier about this Kollection!
I am sorry but i do not believe you had to discover fatalities by your own. Thats impossible, too many combinations and variations, I know magazines had lists and lists of combos and moves, that's how you tested em.
