In these walkthrough videos I show how to complete all Side-Missions as well as point out the locations of all unlockables (hidden characters, alternate costumes etc).
Mortal Kombat : Deception is my personal favourite '3D' Mortal Kombat game. Released in 2004, two years after Deadly Alliance, this game delivers in both quality AND quantity.
The game contains an abundance of 'Kontent'. Not only do we have the traditional one-on-one fighting modes; this game also contains 'Chess Kombat' & 'Puzzle Kombat', two excellent new additions.
Also, Konquest mode makes a return from Deadly Alliance, although here it is a full-blown RPG set in the Mortal Kombat universe. It is the main reason why Deception is my favourite '3D' Mortal Kombat game.
A MUST own game for Mortal Kombat fans.

Looking back at it now this game had such a charming simplicity to it and managed to expand the lore of the mortal kombat universe in an enjoyable way. Imagine a konquest mode they could create with today's gaming engines... nrs needs to make this happen.

@@josiahmcgill638 sup fam I'm from the future. They don't do a conquest, but the story mode is a satisfying and ridiculous conclusion to what's been built up over the last 3 games, and it even acknowledges pre time warp events fairly heavily at one point.

I doubt it, I don't mind it myself and wish I'd actually played it but I was out of the loop for years with Mortal Kombat after Deadly Alliance which I never ended up really playing much of and only owned once. But I think if it was to return it would have in Mortal Kombat X unless people speak up and NeatherRealm see that it's popular enough to make a return then they won't bother. It seems they're really going with this classic style game play with awesome up to todays standards graphics and a movie like story mode.

So many memories! This game has a very eerie and mysterious atmosphere i absolutely love. You felt like anything could happen at any time. This is the first open world game i ever played, it blew me away at the time. I always hated the mandatory tutorial sessions though.

Man I am having major nostalgia, I remeber spending hours exploring all the realms when this game was new. I wish netherealm studios would add a rpgish mode to mortal kombat 11. One can dream. Side note I miss the days when extra characters and skins were unlocked by playing the game and not purchased or cut out by dlc. ):

I have so much nostalgia for MK Deception mainly due to this mode. When I first played it, I had low expectations but was overwhelmed by the amount of depth was put into it and spent a surprising amount of hours just running around a atmospheric single player campaign. God I hope Netherrealm brings this mode back for MK 11.

@ 50:20 "Only monks allowed in temple". As you probably already know, there is a training segment with the spirit of Liu Kang who will only appear following completion of the Konquest mode when you return to the Earth realm. After completion of said training, it may be possible to enter the temple.

I don’t understand why they never did another Konquest like this. It was awesome and so much fun to explore all the realms and find collectibles. They had a good foundation for a new type of Konquest and the very next game they abandoned it.

Well I hate to correct you 3 years later (But someone has to do it) They did do another konquest like this one in the next 3d mortal Kombat game the follow up to this one mortal Kombat Armageddon. Though they put way to many characters in that game and the only reason i say that is because they got lazy and didn't add unique fatalities

@@kennel878Xx it had another konquest but was a downgrade. It was extremely linear and often you’re stuck on a single path. Deception was more open world allowing exploration of each realm. Plus the story had the better campaign with a longer narrative, and good side quests.

With the biggest change being your stuck on a linear path there's not really any open world exploration of the realms like in deception. I think the reason they did that though was because that was the biggest/best concept of konquest and they wanted to push that the most/maximum

I actually liked playing as old shujinko and wish he had a different fighting style for every growth development he goes through in the konquest. Starting from youngest version of shujinko to the oldest version

@@kennel878Xx I agree. I do wish he had his own style rather than replicating everyone else. It was one reason I didn’t use him much outside of Konquest. But his character development was so awesome and fun. To play him as a young teen to an old man and the unexpected that you’re not helping the Gods. I was so blown away as a kid when that game came out. Non the less I enjoyed Armageddon too. It was also real fun creating a custom character.

MK Deception is the first mk game with decent konquest mode. I really love it! So many characters were in (some of them weren't even playable in Deception). Tanya was the hardest rival when I played it. I love this game so much

The Konquest mode as a free RPG was actually a very good feature. Armageddon became more like Sholin Monks (with a forced storyline) I love with what they did with MK 2011 and MK X too, a storyline based arcade game. But this RPG was the best!

I always wished shujinko had options for his fighting style and look based on how you chose to finish conquest mode. I figured the profile feature was to save your progress in the conquest mode. So why not have shujinko be kind of like a fable character that adjusts his appearance and special moves based on how you complete missions and who you decide to train with. Then when you finish the game, you have a special character that you made. I know the game was already big enough but imagine it.

Could you imagine how awesome a Konquest mode would be in a modern MK game? Just think of what they could do with today's graphics/technology.

I know! I do love the new games' stories, but Konquest mode is a much more fulfilling. You get to visit all the different realms and see how the MK universe works. They need to bring it back for MK11. They could just have an epic story like the new games, but you just play as different characters on different missions as we go through the story. It would make the story much more epic with the open world style of play. That would merge the two different styles of Konquest and Story mode.

I've spent countless hours on this game because of konquest!! My absolute favorite. I think i've expored just about every inch of every realm, and unlocked 80% of the treasures without looking up the super hidden ones on google lol
