@@jtsrecordroom3963 No problem and I definitely know what you mean. I've been collecting live concerts and outtakes and things like that for about 30 years and Journey was an incredible band playing those shows before Steve Perry joined right around 1978. And don't get me wrong, I love the Steve Perry years also. But Neal was an incredible guitarist through those years and Gregg Rolie did a great job singing and playing those Hammond keys. One of the things that's really cool in those recordings is when Journey did get Steve Perry and he was new. They were still playing a lot of their old music because they didn't have too much new music yet. And Gregg Rolie and Steve Perry would sing off of each other, harmonize, and it definitely added an extra kick to the band's original songs songs./ You could tell the band was full speed ahead and enjoying it. It's some of the most incredible versions of some of these older songs I think I've ever heard. Even though they were still making new music they played these older songs up through around the beginning of 1981 and then usually didn't play anymore that would require somebody singing. After replacing Gregg who retired from the band at the end of the 1980 Departure tour, they would still do some of the instrumentals From the original albums like Kohoutek, But they had to stop with those songs that lyrically needed Gregg in there too. They really were a great rock band for many years back in the days 🙂 Haha, after all this talking about them, I think I know what I'm about to put on the turntable now 👍
