If u are selling your older home or fixer uppers, Do Not Sell to Investors or Flippers...Sell to a young family or and elderly person...That way regular, average, everyday people have a chance of owning a home...I am 63 and bought an older fixer upper in bad shape, I am also on a fixed income...But although it was a lot of work and its taking some time...I bought my fixer upper for $69,000...1820 sq ft home on 3.5 acres in Oregon. .it has been many trips to the dump and a lot of dirty hard work, but I now own my own home that is little by little looking pretty good.. I live on $1100 a month, so not a lot of money to work with, but it gave me the chance to own a home and not have to pay high rent or have a mortgage pymt....Now I may be able to survive on my small fixed income at 63 yrs. of age...Any family or single person can do the same...Just look for these older homes or fixer uppers and hope those damn investors don't gobble them up 1st, just so they can turn a profit...Get away from the big cities. Look for homes in small towns and suburbs. U would be surprised how many homes are in your budget and the schools are much better too...U might have to drive a few miles to a bigger town for shopping or for major retail stores, but I promise its worth it...Classy
