I was a teenage metalhead at this time, but had no idea that anything this heavy was even possible. Bands like Death and Carcass were cutting edge, but this was another ball game altogether!
This makes my mind flooded with awesome 12yr old Death Metal memories when it was all new and we were figuring out how to play it on our own instruments.. I remember first trying to figure out how to play a blast beat, lol I was only doing Slayer tempos at that point so these OG bands and Napalm Death Live Corruption close up video shots of the Human Tornado Mick Harris blasting his ass off helped form my own blast beats to this day.

By the time Cannibal Corpse put out Butchered at Birth (the first true BDM LP) Suffocation only had Human Waste which is a glorified OSDM EP, not to mention Baphomet put out intense shit in 1990 and you had Gorbage in Canada. Friendly little advice, Suffocation as the first BDM is a myth, and learn the history of the subgenre you're trying to correct someone on lol
