The Rawkus A&R was a guy named Ali. People gotta do their research on him but iykyk. Kanye took the entire play Ali mapped out for him and it worked. The previous artist Ali did the exact same thing with right before Kanye was Hitman who’s work essentially became The Chronic 2001. Small caveat as well but Ali is a Ralph Lauren historian and Ralph has had to rent vintage polo from Ali for numerous campaigns. Wouldn’t be a pink polo without Ali.

Mos Def blends his styles in and out during his verses, and switches flow differently. Almost like he has double perspectives and doesn't cross lines. He can tend to go on and on and when his audience goes wild he cho choo trains his rhymes and as the listener u have to be able to ride the wave with him leading it. Bc Mos Def aka Yasiin Bey is ahead of his time!

Folks keep acting like 3k’s guest verses don’t count for anything. Dude has 30+ verses since 2007. At least a dozen of those verses are legendary. No two are the same. He was quoted back in an article saying he’ll spit a verse better than most rapper’s albums, and that quote rings true 20 years later. Mos Def aka Mos Talented. 3000 is a Legend. But, I can’t say he’s over Mos though because he opted out of the game. Mos been creating masterpieces in various forms.. -Mos really did an NFT style album you could only hear at a museum situation before NFTs existed lol. -Mos crashed an award show with his own stage on a truck and performed, “Katrina Clap” in protest. -Mos was on Chappelle Show, bruh. -Mos was bringing Afrobeat to HipHop before Afrobeats was popping - he got FELA on his first album Intro, bruh. 20 Years ahead of everybody lol. -Cadillac Records, Something the Lord Made. He made a HipHop Opera with Beyoncé, bruh. Brown Sugar 😂 (HipHop dalmations! 🤣). -The Umi Says Jordan commercial is GOATed. -Mos crashed 106 and Park. -Mos on Bill Maher Lol…. So many moments. 3 Stacks opted out of giving us those moments. Legendary guest verses. Hall of Famer. But… Mos built a resumé, fam.

The reason why Mos Def doesn't get his due is because he disappeared when he was super hot and his projects after his return weren't that great. He started with Blackstar and Black on Both Sides which are undoubtedly classic projects. The stuff after he returned was no where near that level. It's not a talent issue, it has to do more with resume. Mos wanted to explore other things outside of Rap and his discography suffered because of it.

Not true at all, New Danger got a lot of accolades. I can't lie it took a minute for that album to grow on me but it did and it's one of my favorites. True Magic wasn't the greatest but he had 3 to 4 ill joints on that album. You definitely can't front on The Ecstatic, that whole album is fire and he didn't curse on that entire project. I didn't even know Dec. 99th existed until last year or so and that album was kinda ok. But the real reason he said fuck it is because he was tried of putting all this hard work. prove it! Mos Def made "Mr Nigga"; what 3K's ""song" rivals this song? in fact, what 3K song rivals "Ms Fat Booty"?

@@t-god2439 Aquemeni puts the debate to bed by itself. Then you add in Stankonia.... it's not even a fair fight. Every time Andre 3000 features on someone else's music he always outshines them. I like Mos Def, but not close.
