Look at nas body of work. He told you before, he puts out what he feels in the moment, like other true artist. He chose not to make formula albums that most artist were making at the time. Jay, tip and a few others were just pumping out formula albums... they were early on algorithms. Nas is like Prince a true artist... make what you want and give it to the people. Not make what the people want and being held to that. When jay started to make older music, his fans made him go back to frank lucus. Nas never had to deal with that

Ehhh....tongue in cheek shit. Joe still threw out a jab saying 'Nas may not be as lyrical as he used to be...' The fuck Joe....but his Jay loyalty couldn't allow him to just give the true God emcee his due. Oh well, this will be the closest thing to true Nas praise

The crazy thing is that the one album people truly hate of nas is Nastradomus... the one album he chose to do that he was trying to do that was Pop, trendy, based on the fad of the day. While the work that people hated of Jay was him turning from fad or trendy music to Older more mature, artsy music. So to the people who say nas fell off or gat wack after "it Was Written" would rather their artist to put out programmed, predictible music and not true artistic expression. They want predictable, but hold Nas to a higher standard, but are not evolded mentally enough to go on the journey of true artistic expression. Probably the same people who couldn't understand or like what outkast or prince was doing. They don't like elevation or true art. They want to be hustled by the same product over and over. Jay is a talented hustler...give them what they want or see daily, instead of giving them you in the form of art. Oh im a virgo so i understand Nas...lol. not a Stan

The Problem is you are trying to explain something to people who are making bad faith arguments. These people know Nas has made good albums, but a lot of them are all Jay Z stans who used to live vicariously through Jay and they are still hurt somewhere deep inside. These are the same folks who said Jay was innovative on 4:44 when Common has been making that same album for years.
