1:25 there is a safety. Pull the end of the bolt back and twist it to the left. The mosin nagant was adopted in 1891 and retired in 1947.

@@thunderaljighefee9205 Impossible to break unless your firing pin spring is broken or the cocking piece and rear section of the reciever is ground off. The Mosin Nagant safety is just pulling back the cocking piece and turning it about 30 degrees counter-clockwise until it stops. This also locks the bolt closed.

Great video Kendall. The mosin does actually have a safety on it. It is located on the rear of the bolt (The circle on the bolt) and you need to pull the circle back and twist it to engage the safety and to disengage, you do that in the opposite direction

The round knob on the back is safety, pull back and turn and its on safe. Clean the bolt and bore with windex with ammonia to remove corrosive powder and then hops 9.

i have one of those but mine is a 1954 m44 Romanian with a cherry stock and i also have a British 303. they are fun to shoot at a mile at a small metal dish (size of a dinner plate). but you guys handled shooting that well. my cousin shot mine and it knocked him down 10 ways of nothing. great vid and keep up with the good work.

I have a 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser from 1905 and I oil it and clean it every time I shoot it and it works like a brand new gun so if that gun was taken care of it would work better

Actually theres a guide sleve in the mosin that will wear through one the bolt causeing it to catch and be harder to rack it it dont matter how many times you clean it you can put barren grease in it and after a while of racking it it wears through the way to fix it is have the bolt carrier machined 10 thousandths of an inch it will work perfectly i know cause im a professional gun smith and ive personally done it 7 times

Grease the shells before loading it helps I have a mosin and it did the same thing even being cleaned then I greased the shells and it made a world of difference

if you take a 20 ga wire bore brush on a drill put some oil on it and use it to clean the chamber and that should help with the bolt getting stuck

The sticky bolt in my m39 mosin nagant was caused by the firingpin spring. I switched it with one i got from midway usa and it imidiately solved my sticky bolt problem.

i own a izvehk russian made 1940 91/30 standard,stocks been painted black and bolts been changed to a bent bolt tho, got it 3-4 years ago for $150 with 40 rounds of ammo and all matching serial numbers and a bayonet, insane deal id say. and yes the bolt sticking shut, is very common for them, i think its just cause russians are so strong they dont notice the issue

i have a 32 tula mosin..i had to polish the bolt pretty good and get some burs off here and there then it works great.. but thats a chinese version i would not recommend buying those if u get more.. look for the hexagon ones and you should be fine..anything pre wwii
