Just because you pay bills, have taxes, and have a family doesn’t mean you’re emotionally mature. Right on point. Plenty of older indian folk who got big egos and talk with a lot of immaturity

I think it is important to analyse why a person might be acting in a certain way. True, it may be ego, but also it may be rooted in a legitimate concern. I don't think labels are helpful; be wary of fundamental attribution errors.

Agree. If you treat someone like a baby, they will behave like a baby. Treat them like an adult and they behave differently depending on the level they can stretch to. So I also feel it is possible that someone's manager is forcing them to behave that way since they themselves are unable to grasp anything further.

Jung wrote a lot on the maturation process. We don’t go through the right rites of passage to properly individuate.

Thank you for putting this into words. I am the adult in a sea of babies at work. So. Much. Drama. This helps me feel better about my plan to move on. Much appreciated.

Shreyas, this resonates. I think I differ on the note of ‘people come wired this way’. From what I have observed, we operate in a constant stream of thought, which only seems to get heightened over time as we are constantly surrounded by stimuli. This leaves limited room for reflection and simple awareness, and folks are generally left with recurring thoughts. The reasons for this are many. Like you, however, I do not feel irked by grown up babies. Personally, it takes daily practice on my part to recognize when I’m being a baby, and I have my moments. It’s not a source of pride/irritation. Just a reality of the present world order

As someone who is a strong advocate of therapy and seen great benefit from it, it’s encouraging to see you mention professional therapy as an option. Hopefully, the motivation of professional success is a draw for certain “babies”. Although, I suspect it will take enormous effort to take the first step to recognize and then subsequently action - especially given the long term nature of the ROI on such life changing efforts! P.S : I’ve followed your content for some time now and wondered the lack of mention of professional therapy - thank you for taking the first step towards mentioning it!

Are you using a software like descript to cut out small silences from your original recording? The video has these tiny glitch jumps that I find quite disconcerting. Love your content, and the silence removal (if used) is working if I'm just listening, but watching this on my TV is very stuttery visually.

Namaste Shreyas Doshi🙏🙏🙏.. You are absolutely right!!! I have done a bit research on what you have spoken in this video and so, would like to add my understanding (with your permission) on these.. 1. This holds good in Corporate India too..not because as u've mentioned that in Indian, elders are put on pedestal and respected as oppose to the western culture precisely US... but... because like you many in India still live in the misconception that Inidan culture is all about bowing down infront of elders... which is half truth as the fact is in our culture we are taught (as part of spirtual education and initiations by Shisksh and Diksha gurus) to see the goodness (god/higher power)that exists in everyone and everything including plants, trees, animals etc., thats why we do Namaste here...And yes respecting elders and listing to them is act of compassion too (atleast as per our ancient culture) not necessarily you would need to act as per their instructions thought.. Have we not seen in Epic like Ramayan in which young Rama kills the eldest pundit Ravan??? And in Mahabharata, Baby Krishna kills a woman who was s demon and his own uncle Kansa??? These are stories that a normal kid in India still listen everyday.. why? Despite the fact that elder and eldest (in terms of age) are attacked and killed in these stories by a kid/younger gen??? Simple --- In Indian Culture, it's always the goodness or divinity and dharma that takes precedence over age, experience, status etc..,. And yes, when we say dharma, it also means the karma that you as younger generation (both sons/daughters) need to do to your elders not out of fear but out of awareness that you are born to someone or to some family to deliver some karmic responsibility... This awareness is completely absent in the west and hence it is taking toll on younger generations like affecting their overall health, progress etc., Secondly, I term them as Corporate Dogs not babies because given my experience with babies as their nurturer and teacher for many years, I see babies are not so needy and attention seekers than the Corporate Dogs.. Dont you think, all the qualities that yiu mentioned to call Corporate babies are also the qualities that make dogs as dogs??? Irritable, attention seeking? Thirdly, these are the qualities that normally you would find in men in india.. So, our Rishis had understanding about these qualities of men and hence designed the family system and society's system accordingly to keep the irritable men intact and yet transforming them into a better human through marriage and family system.. they knew that men so the thing to get attention and when you tie the responsibility of taking care of his children and spouse and parents as societal expectations and societal way of living, he would take pride and deliver..So, you see its woman that leaves her everything when she gets married and readilytransforms herself but not so in the case of men.(there are many other reasons besides what Inhave mentioned here).. and mostly he married because he gets personal assistant that will take care of everything - cooking, washing clothes, make him shine, praise him, dress as per his whims and fancies etc., ..So only lord Rama Rama who was totally different from a normal man who knew what he needed to do as a son, brother, husband, king, leader and most importantly human being (driven by dharma and not by animalistic instincts/impulses, self centredness) the title "Maryadapurshottam"... Hope you take this information in the right context.. I suggest you to research on our epics more and surely, you all find many gems that you can share with ur Corporate America or your babies😊 God bless you.. than k you
