Today we will visit Maya ay and many other Koh Phi Phi islands here in Thailand. We will be taking the famous speed boat full day tour to Maya Bay, the beach made famous by the movie "The Beach" by Leonardo DeCaprio and I will be letting you know if Maya Bay is worth visiting or not! I also share it because travel insurance is extremely important, I got hospitalized in Austria for 11 days three years ago by an accident that happened to my foot and the bill was literally 11,000 euro, but because I had safetywing insurance I literally only had to pay $250 out the door and it costs literally around $1 a day! The trip was absolutely worth it...the water of the lagoon was amazing. We were aloud to swim in Maya Bay that time...I even had a burger and a coke on that island...and be glad that you missed monkey beach, they attack and steal your belongings

I understand the marine life conservation program instilled in the last few years but having visited Maya Bay a few times pre covid and pre shut down, I always enjoyed swimming, snorkelling in the bay itself. Also, despite the benefits of beating the crowds with an early morning trip…the lunchtime tour is my favourite coz when you head back you more likely to be on that tailboat heading back to Koh Phi Phi with a bunch of strangers (possibly new friends) watching an amazing sunset (I thrive on the energy of big crowds ;-)

I’ve always thought that ang thong marine national park (lagoon) few hrs by boat from koh Samui is much better.. people only come to maya bay due to the film the beach, but don’t realise that about 1/3 of it is missing in real life, camera work in the film makes it look better than it actually is IMO 👍🏻

I was there at Maya a few weeks ago and loved it just for the pics and beautiful scenery.. CAUTION !!! the rock walls of Phi Phi bay are very sharp!!! My daughter cut her foot and needed 5 stitches!! Another important tip... if you take a tour there from Ao Nang DO NOT EAT THE INCLUDED BUFFET IN PHII PHI !!! WE GOT FOOD POISONING. I was.sick for a week.

If u one the phi phi island u can get it from about 40 £private long tail from ya hotel if u getting ferris it’s about 30£ and if u go buy private speed boat u can get for about 80 £ they usually 4 hours they do them sunrises and sunset and I think lunch time ones and depends how many island u wanna visit
