Mt Maunganui Beach. The climb to the top of Mt Maunganui is a cheeky little walk. When ever I stay at the Mount I feel obligated to climb it every morning then adjourn to one of the beach front Cafes for a muffin and a coffee (if the surfs up I might go for a paddle)

Happy Birthday Mado. You are actually at Mt Maunganui and The Mountain you are walking up is 'Mauao' ( pronounced Mo-ow- when say you stub your foot! Like 'OW") Down the bottom of the Mountain is the township of Mt Maunganui. Tauranga is over the bridge to the right. I was born in Whakatane, no far from where you are. I live in Melbourne Australia and have not been back to NZ for 15 years.

How was the pizza 🍕 It looked so good 🤤 in general, how are you finding the food quality in NZ? Expensive but hopefully it maintains a high quality/taste/serving size?

Food quality is a lot a lot better then North America anyways! Its really good standards and taste but the cheese ain’t the best 😂 anyways we are enjoying it so far and it’s a little more expensive here compared to Ireland.

$20 to get into those hot pools, Jesus! im sorry i love my hometown of Tauranga, I live in aussie now but 10 years ago i swear you only paid $8.00 adult $4 for kids BTW the city/town you are exploring in this video is actually Mt Maunganui. Tauranga city is a 10min drive away across the harbour bridge. they are very close by each other but technically 2 seperate cities

It's pronounced Tau rong a, "Tauranga" it is more like the "nga" sound in Tonga T "onga". Good luck.

Dude, Mount Maunganui is the name. I have no idea what you have been saying haha, Mount Moell? Either way, mount Monga-nu-ee, more or less in the pronunciation. Beaut spot!

haha yeah, I know! some locals told me this but we have learnt now the proper way now. also they call it mount mauoa in a shorter way no? it's also on the signs at the mount.

@GlenAndMado they are trying to get you to say Mauao, which is Te Reo (Maōri) for Mountain, which is the correct name for the mountain at Mount Maunganui. (Pronounced Maow-ow). I live here and walk up it every weekend. Enjoy your stay in NZ.

@@GlenAndMadodon't listen to people telling you about crime.Its a load of bollocks driven by the opposition political party because there's an election in 4 months. The gangster crime is targeted at other gangsters and if you don't frequent the underground you'll never see it. Probably the same as in Ireland. However do take care with your possessions just the same as you would anywhere else in the world. NZ is safe but just like everywhere else in the world there is always someone that will take advantage given the opportunity
