Gold dwarf monk with tough and amulet of constitution is op he was basically untouchable and when they did his health is so high even the hardest hits are just tickles
To be fair, dwarves make good warlocks, sorcerers and ** wizards, since they get medium armor when they otherwise would need to multiclass or spend a feat for it. Still no shields and low movement speed, but that's what the Shield and Misty Step spells are for, petal.
Gith EXIST tough, and they also can wear medium armor, have more relevant weapon proficiencies (I just love using Phalar Aluve with my sorc since act 1). thay also get Astral Knowledge, a VERY useful trait for a MC that is not a bard (bards already are OP skill monkeys anyway), plus racial invisible mage hand, jump and the always ultra useful misty step... I'd say that makes Gith and Half Wood Elf the best sorcs or wizards. Warlocks are a bit diferent, because I really LOVE to use 1h crossbows with mine because of some really powerful items and interactions, so if I want to MC a warlock I'll probably play a Drow.
@@Tentacl it’s the gold dwarf that gets the hp bonus, shield dwarves get light and medium armor proficiencies. What all dwarves get is handaxe, battleaxe, light hammer and warhammer proficiencies.
13:27 Nyrulna doesn't trigger its explosion without an attack roll, so throwing it at the ground does nothing. You actually show this off at 13:18 when you throw at Viconia's feet. I also recommend using Crater Flesh gloves for a throw build and maxing your Crit chance when you can, as it double applies around 30 Force Damage per throw. I wouldn't personally use Rhapsody like you are, instead Knife of the Undermountain King or Bloodthirst. If you use Ethel's Hairs, the 4 Merregon Masks, House of Grief buff, Everlasting Str potion and 20 Base Str you can hit 28 Strength unmodded to raise your throwing even more. If you have someone Ascend to a Mindflayer you can also grant Fierce Perilous Stakes to add a LOT of Psychic Damage to targets especially with the Resonance Stone too.
You can also dump STR completely for max DEX and go for the STR elixirs. Or if you go the route in this video, Bloodlust potion gives another full action for another two throwing attacks (or one on honor mode I suppose).
Dwarves are not the worst race, not by a long shot. By the numbers, dwarves are one of the best races in the Player's Handbook. Their ability score increases are good, and their other racial traits make them durable and flexible enough to succeed in several classes. Imagine playing a warlock, but now you can wear medium armor or have extra hit points and can wield a great axe with no feats. You can literally be pack of the tome and be a frontliner.
I solo'd Honor mode with Duergar Durge Gloomstalker 5/Assassin 4/Champion 3. Invisibility at will out of combat and once in combat combined with invis after kill Deathstalker Mantle = joke Honor mode. You can reset combat after every kill and get all your opening Gloomstalker/Assassin salvos back killing 5-6 enemies every turn then reset combat. Super easy.
Got my golden dice with Dwarf (Fighter 12) just so I could use the Dwarven Thrower and Dwarven Splint Mail (I'm a roleplayer). I never jumped so much in my life.
Hey Spud love your videos! I recently discovered a bug (i guess?) that if you pick warlock, lvl up your character to lvl3 and bind your weapon with pact of the blade and go to withered to respec - the weapon will still be bonded and it will remain charisma scaling, so i was using this technique on paladin/bard but mb there's another interesting combinations with this tech what do you think?
Hehe, found it too, because was making loads of warlock builds lately, dont know of other interactions right now, but your ideas sounds really good! We actually can optimize loads of ability points this way!
This is the build I used on my first blind playthrough, and throughout the whole game it performs extremely well, and I keep a thrower in my party now on all playthroughs. However since then I'm leaning towards thrower builds with a bit more utility (maybe I'm just bored with this one). I kinda like monk/thief, since then you get bonuses from Tavern Brawler on both unarmed and throwing, so you can throw on your normal attacks and Flurry of Blows on bonus actions. If you kill the Nightsong, then with the Sharran spear, I like a Beastmaster thrower with the raven spreading Darkness all over the battlefield (party sinergies added too of cours). On non honour mode, you can use a warlock multiclass, bind a pact weapon, and throw from the offhand to still receive the bonus attack, and there is a plethora of builds unlocked that way, but noone really cares about non honour mode :)
I had a fab playthru with a Gold Barb on tactician. I missed the dwarven thrower during that play, probably sexy Shadowhearts fault. This was when I had no idea about Duergars though. Don't you find critical miss happens rather too often with barbs? Could just be me; I saw your Blight Village Ogre crit miss opener though haha. All the best, Ugly One! Your videos are relaxation x100 for me.
Duergar invisibility has to be the most op racial ability by far. solo'd with gloomstalker ranger 3 assassin rogue 3 swords bard 6 ,and did a duo co op run with 2 duergar as Lockadins both using devil sight/invis combo (probablt could solo with this too)
? Dwarfs worse than a dragon born? Holy shit some one call the daily bugle. Dwarf Druid is fucking nuts in my mind. Though 1 dwarf subclass is faaaar worse then any other races…
This has a caveat because Bloodlust extra action only applies when you kill a target with a direct attack. If it dies to a thrown projectile it counts as the thrown item killing them and you don't gain the Action. I just recently completed a run with the Dwarven Thrower that I had this problem. So you have to weave in melee attacks before throwing to use that feature. He's also missing out on using Ethel's Hair and 4 Merregon masks to raise Strength to 28.
Tavern Brawler doesn't work in honour mode with throwing builds or Druid wild shape anymore. Only adds to attack, not damage. Just a heads up for those looking to play this in honour mode. Still a great build, but you'd probably want to replace that feat with something else if you play this in honour mode.
