I wish mine only needed $400 worth of parts when I purchased it. Cosmetically it was/is in great shape, but mechanically it was not well cared for...so I paid more than I should and then still had a very large bill from the shop that did the work as I am not that confident in my skills. But, a year and a half later working with a fantastic shop and it is really been a great car. Mine is a '97 M3 sedan with manual, black over black just like this. Very fun little car to drive. Love seeing the content from you on one of my favorite M3's of all time.
Reminds me of all those hundreds of hours working on my old 330ci. I’m guessing I spent $4,000 refreshing everything. Even after that, it’s pop the hood and look around every other week to make sure there’s nothing wrong.
Nathan great video as always! You forgot to include a new radiator! I’ve had my 328 since 98 and as you know the plastic nipples fail with no warning. Thankfully now you can get an all aluminum one.

I have a 2008 528i base model that I’m gonna do the new pan/filter, the sleeves, gaskets, and was wondering from yoh which fluid would be fine and how much of it would you recommend? I’m at 93k miles and want to go ahead and do it.
I replaced both cam and crank position sensors on my e36 m3 because my car was struggling to run. Would just crank over and sometimes run or die immediately.
In you experience. What does a 1221 code on a m50 usually mean? I did a smoke test and couldn’t find a vacuum leak. Car came with after market headers and exhaust. No Cats and only one 02 sensor.
Hey Nathan I got a 02 e39 530 and my aux fan seems to be loud like it's working to fast could this be the sensor for the fan. When ac is on its normal but when the Ac is off aux fan still kicks on and gets loud on the highway it seems to calm down and return to normal if you guys could help I would appreciate it.
On my '99 E46 I have the runs rough sometimes at start up. When I turn if off and restart it runs good. Is it the valve cover or the coils most likely the issue? I have no check engine light.

Can this happen with the m50tu engine as well? My car runs fine then all of a sudden it'll start misfiring real bad. I'll stop and sit for a little and it'll even itself out. No check engine lights as well.
Inevitably with your experience you bought a car in better condition than most but the contradiction is that, as a RU-vidr, you could argue that may not be such a good idea :)
Hey BIMMER HEADS can anyone including NATHAN maybe give some advice on my issue. BMW 330ci E46 2006 has an issue when changing from 1st to 2nd mainly a jerk its intermittent so happens whenever it wants to then other times nothings. I would highly recommend on checking the battery for a low voltage/current the spark is getting to the spark plugs. Sounds like a weak voltage to the plugs, or could also be low on oil.
check your motor mounts, my car would jolt sometimes when i released the accelerator to shift from 1st to 2nd and i check a few forums and that was what everyone was saying. replaced it with redshift poly urethane motor mounts and it feels great
