I really like the ALiners. They are on my very short list. Scamp and Casita are the other two on my short list. If any one of them had factory installed solar panels on the roof.....That’d be my choice. I’m still trying to understand why none of them have that option. Two panels a high quality battery and inverter option would be something to separate themselves from the competition. Most folks who enjoy boondocking add it anyway. I hope the manufacturers are reading the comments. Thanks for a VERY informative video!
Not enough room on the roof of the Aliners for enough solar to have any impact on the batteries. Now, there are portable ones that can be used. Also, two panels and one battery will not provide much in the way of amp hours to be boondocking for very long either. Especially if you are planning on using an inverter. Many misconceptions about solar, batteries and inverters. Stay tuned and I will do a RU-vid Live to cover in more detail. If you are boondocking and have solar panels on the roof you get to park your rig in the sun all day. And roast. Better option is a portable solar kit that you can place in the sun while your rig is comfy in the shade. If you are traveling all the time and spend 5 + hours on the road each day, then solar panels on the roof make sense.
Wonderful walkthrough of all the models. My only question is where you hook up the portable stove when it's inside the unit? I wish you guys where down the street from me, but I live in Kansas, no Aliner dealers. I have had to go pretty far to get the 2 I've owned. Best camper you can own so I'm looking for number 3 now.
You guys should make a boondocking Edition maybe a more Bare Bones model because not everybody wants air conditioning in a camper and all that other stuff and then we can make it our own

Enjoyed the thorough walk through, details and differences between the models. I realize this video is a few years old, so definately some differences. I hope they got rid of the air conditioner sticking out the side. It just looks really awkward and out of place.
Why not make these with access storage under all the beds from the top in every model? We converted on our own over 25 yrs ago in our Coleman camper trailer. I like the one with a toilet shower stove frig . Good set up for bad weather. Mountain camping changes in about 45 seconds.
Hi Paul, Can you live full time long term in the A liners? Thank you for all you do! I love your walk through. Does A Liner custom arrange these? I'm thinking kitchen in front with hard dormer, bed/couch on non door side up against the wall, and porta potty on door side in back corner. Thank you for your info.
I find it strange they put the TV connector, nowhere near free bench space, it makes more sense to have it on left side right next to doorway bench so you can throw the sat box and tv on
Looked at these 2 years ago and they had an air conditioner sticking out of the side of it. Had a cover over it and it stayed that way while traveling. Looked hazardous.
They do have the A/C sticking out the side on some models. There is a Cool Cat A/C with heat pump available on a few models and that is enclosed inside of the camper. Thanks for watching!
I like the ranger 12, but want dormers. I prefer the hard side dormer, but Ranger looks like it only has soft side dormer. Do they make a lot of noise if windy --- like tents do in the wind?
I'm not too fond of the Dormers so I love how Aliner makes them Optional. Dormers open it up, sure, but I feel it takes away from what it means to be an Aframe.

I’m surprised that the top of the versions,especially(toilet/shower-inside)Does not have a bigger(fresh water tank capacity)In my opinion-11 gallons doesn’t cut it.
Anything is possible, but from a design perspective, this is all that fits in the location the water tank is placed. One must consider towability when configuring a camper. Too much front or back is not good for towing.
It’s easy enough to purchase various sized water jugs that you could carry in your tow vehicle. Then you just refill your onboard water tank from those. Advantage to that is you don’t need to take the ALiner to a filling station. You can also get a 12 V pump, which you can run from your tow vehicle to the ALiner so you don’t have to lift or lug the spare jugs.
It is an outlet just like in your bathroom at home. A GFI, or GFCI - Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter device protects us from receiving electric shocks from faults in the electrical devices we use in our home. It works by comparing the input current on the hot side to the output current on the neutral side. If there’s the slightest difference in current, on the order of a few milliamps, then there is current leaking out somewhere, possibly through somebody’s body. To protect us in this situation, the device very quickly cuts off the power supply to the leaking device, within 20-30 milliseconds, greatly reducing any possible human tissue damage from errant current.A GFI or GFCI protection should be provided anywhere there is a receptacle installed in an area subject to moisture, as the presence of moisture greatly increases the danger of accidental shock.
@@TheAirForceGuy cool, thanks for the detailed response. What you are describing sounds like what fuses do, cutting off current. Are they a totally separate system or connected?
Most times there are a few outlets in one circuit. There are some that have more than one GFI outlet in the camper. This is 110 volts, not fuses. So they are on a breaker.
Cassette disposal is the way to go. It all should be cassette disposal. I can think of so many ways to improve some of these designs. Europeans utilize space much better than Americans. They need to add a outside dishwasher/washing machine. LOL not that wobbly awful out side kitchen.
