March 4, 1969, while on a 4 man rescue mission of a Marine squad that had been ambushed I was wounded and after 29 years, 116 days I received my Silver Star. I always hated that this phony received one for being somewhere that no danger existed and no enemy action was involved. I am 100% combat disabled because of my wounds.

I was 14 years old when President Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas. Being born in 1951 I remember hearing my father talk about both the Kennedy assassination and what he thought of LBJ as a president. What you are saying here almost mirrors perfectly the things my dad always said. After looking at all of the information available and the conspiracy theories about the Kennedy assassination. I have always felt that it must have been an inside job of some sort or another. Because when you think about it there are just so many gray areas that have never been properly explained. In retrospect and looking back at the Warren report it is easy to see that it's main purpose was not to solve anything but just to deflect away from the JFK assassination and move along so the public would forget about it. To be honest, that same tactic is still used in the government even nowadays. It is really troubling when you think that an American vice president would conspire to have a president killed so they could ascend to the presidency as a way too enrich themselves, but considering it's the government and politics nothing surprises me. Also since it's quite possible that LBJ was involved in JFK's assassination one would have to assume that he was involved in the death of RFK as well?

There are bad things about LBJ, but to suppose he would knowingly sit in a motorcade where shots were being fired over his head at the intended victim (with his best friend and protege, John Connolly, sitting in harm's way in the limo with JFK) is implausible. Nixon got the South to pull out of the talks just before the '68 election promising them a better deal if he won the presidency. Well we all saw how that ended up. Nixon murdered another million or two people, dragged the war on for another 4 years, helped create the Killing Fields in Cambodia and accomplished nothing fundamentally different than what Johnson had been negotiating in '68. Read Robert Carrow, Johnson's pre-eminent biographer. This right wing propagandist is bad news.

My father was on duty(46th Communications) at Clark AFB in the Philippines the day(August 2,1964), when the Gulf of Tonkin Incident began. So when I was able to go to the LBJ Library at the University of Texas in Austin for a workshop in the Summer of the early 90’s, one of our sessions was on the Gulf of Tonkin incident. I was able to get a file of declassified documents and later showed them to my dad. When I first asked him about those days, he said, “I can’t talk about it son”. I then handed him the file and he looked at some of the documents and said, “I knew something was fishy about the whole thing”. He explained to me that all transmissions came through his office and then were sent down the line until they ended in Washington D. C. I noticed that when LBJ left office he became a recluse and his hair grew long and he appeared to have the look of a man who had demons chasing him. He didn’t live long after he left office.

I was 3 weeks into US Navy bootcamp on the day of the Gulf of Tonkin incident, after A School I ended up at the same Gulf aboard the USS Hancock . Served 2 short & 2 long cruises aboard. I flew home from Vietnam on May 10, 1969 on Johnson's Flying Tiger Airline. It was a stretch 727. This was when all international airlines had young beautiful stewardesses. Also, all the major airlines serving Vietnam offered steak dinners and the best off service to all the military returning home. All we got from Johnson's airlines was hot dogs. We were supposed to return through Hawaii, but the plane lost an engine, so we had to divert through Ankorage Alaska.

As a Texas boy, I was among a group of deer hunters who leased ranches from both brothers Crown and Vic Moss. The good, honest, hard-working people of the Texas Hill Country all knew LBJ, and not one liked him.
