To be honest, the "ghettos" in Zambia are not bad, the problem is the trash and lack of hygiene in the shanty compound. Some ghettos in other African countries are really scary looking. Zambia is fairly safe with low crime despite the proverty that we have.
What you do in a situation like that, you need to go and get permission from someone feared or respected in that community i.e a Street Boss, or a Pastor. Then he would be the one to introduce you to locations and people to shoot the video
You people don't know chibolya The question is ,how many people will you then have to pay off , there's gonna be chaos, not everyone would be in favor unless you walk with junkies while capturing
There’s a good church in that ghetto. I documented a little bit of the area in 2018 & garbage on certain locations like in this video was the order of the day. GRZ need to redesign & rebuild this compound with good infrastructure & then allow the people to rent with the purpose of owning the houses. They can do it slowly in different sections
Nowadays it's safe. Not before 2021you wouldn't have walked 20 meters without being attacked. Now it's a bit safe. But still if you went to that area around the mosque you still would have been attacked. Please don't dare to pass through the mosque area
The people here are friendly As hell. I have personally never witnessed the bad things people say about this place! But hey, they is a lot that can be done to help this place become better! They is a lot of marijuana usage in this zone...If the government legalized usage in this zone...trust me, investors will flog to the place looking for investments. It's poverty to blame for all the negative things that happen here, so take away the poverty and you will take away a lot of bad vibes in the area. Don't forget the cause.
😂 for our entertainment...capturing gang criminal interviews and activity is key...but we understand, its not worth the risk for you. Thanks though...closest i'll probably ever come to chibolya.
