please dont push it too hard and get yourself hurt for views; also its interesting that it took the risk of third degree burns for you to not spill a drop good job
>Greg has a record of spilling liquor. >creates a mixed drink made of fire. Me: patiently waiting for Greg to spill inferno drink. >Greg does not disappoint me and spill's liquid fire on the bar. *THATS WHAT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!*
@@RelativelyBest as he knocks back the a bottle of firewhiskey due to the stress at being Harry's headmaster and then throws it right at Prof. Moody's head
Hey Greg. Hot tip for any type of long, roll type pour from one mug or tin to the other as in this video: Always move the bottom cup or tin instead of the top. Start high and bring it down low. You have much more control over the flow and aim of the liquid this way.
HTD isn't your typical bartender's channel. It's filled with history and research. This is the gentleman's channel, my friend. Keep up the awesome work.
Mordridsviews ---Amen to that, I was looking up how to make a Long Island Iced Tea because the restaurant that makes a great one, is now closed. Ta da! HTD to the rescue❤️ I came for the recipe and stayed because he’s funny & interesting.
Since I know you love pouring burning liquids so much, you should do a video on the Neptune's Wrath, which requires you pour flaming chartreuse into a gin sour with absinthe
That sound's like the stupidest way top burn your house down bartending unless there's a drink that requires you to pour burning Everclear into a glass of similar proof spirits.
The bar I work at we made a variation of this for our winter menu going from December to January. $20 and we used 2.5oz of Cask-Strength American Brandy. Really delicious and turns heads whenever we start throwing around fire behind the bar
This is the most incredible and otherworldly looking thing I've ever seen. Genuinely looks like some gorgeous magical potion from lord of the rings or Harry Potter or something. 11/10 some of the best visuals I've seen all year.
wait, yall gave the guy known for spilling everything he ever pours a cup of burning liquid!?!? To pour back and forth several times?? Who thought this was a good idea?
Greg. B-e-a-utiful. The dark shots, with the music... Fan-freaking-tastic. You and the crew nailed the ever-loving hell out of this one. Thanks for y'all's hard work.
You got me here from the "most dangerous drink" title. I got more interested when I learned fire will be used but I really stayed when you said to use "Heavy Metal" mugs! Another fun flaming drink is "The Flaming Doctor Pepper".
Those shots of pouring the fire. Absolutely wonderful. Thank you to your cinematographer or whoever was responsible for that, it genuinely made my life so much better
I have been trapped in a cabin in Colorado with no cell service or internet for days, and now as I sit in the airport finally bound for warmer climes, I can truly say that this video is exactly the kind of warmth my soul has been crying out for this holiday season.
I've done flaming cocktails before, but nothing like this. Some true next level shit. You're a braver man than I. Lol. Fantastic job and Merry Christmas, Greg. Wishing the best to you and yours.
I feel obligated to point out that he didn't spill anything on the Rick's Flask episode. Then again, when you're using Hennessy XO, at $150 per bottle, you definitely don't want to spill any of it
I feel like Greg saw our comments about all the drink porn in this show, and was like “Oh, I’ll show them drink porn..!” Couple episodes later, he’s juggling fire.
My favorite drinking establishment does a variation of a bourbon blue blazer. But as they are making the drink they let you throw cinnamon and sugar into the drink and fire stream making a cascade of sparks and light!
Ahh! Excelent idea. Powdered spices (and perhaps other things) would do that combustion thing spectacularly. I'm wondering what colour variations might be possible... while keeping it non-toxic.
Yup, we did the same with flaming Sambuca drinks, sparkles have a huge "wow effect". But it's not more dangerous, than getting up from your bed and I was doing it 15 years ago in medium/shitty bar in Poland, so I'm not sure there is anything to get excited about ;P
As someone that has learned some basic bartending in culinary school, I was wondering if you'd be brave enough to try to make a Cafe Diable? Learning how to make that drink at the end of my table service class was neat to learn and watch.
New subscriber here...can I just say how much comfort and joy I get from watching your channel? As an interested amateur, cocktails like this one are much better viewed in slow motion from the safety of my non burning living room 😄 Thanks for your content...It's my new favorite go to.
"Dropped this strategically on Christmas Eve so none of you would have time to prepare to demonstrate this drink..." (looks in closet, sees 3 cask strength Single Malts to choose from) HONEY, GET THE CAMERA!
After a lot of practising and failing at rolling drinks, I learned that the best way to do it is with the mug you're pouring from, start up high and keep that one still while pouring, and then follow the stream with the lower cup, wayyy less spillage, especially when it's on fire. Happy drinking!
Greg, I don't think you'll read this as there are nearly 550 comments currently, but I would like to thank you. For the past year I've been through a lot of change. I moved internationally and left everyone I knew. A few months ago, I found your channel and it has kept me company through some of the less happy times. Your personality and physicality in front of the camera make every video enjoyable and fun to watch. Hope your holidays are great because you deserve it. Thanks man!
I've seen this done at a bar before it was wild. The thing they had however were handles on the mugs, like sticks about 40cm long out of them, almost like the handle you'd see on a pan. This way they didn't have to get their hands right up next to the fire, which you know, makes a lot of sense.
Amazing - just discovered this channel a few days ago, and thought about requesting/daring you to do a blue blazer - most bartenders just say "A what?' or 'No.'
Greg: "And I dropped this strategically on Christmas Eve, so none of you guys had time to prepare to demonstrate this for your friends, family, or guests..." Me: This is perfect for New Year's just after the ball drops... hope I'm not too drunk when I do it.
This (minus the fire and plus a green tea bag) is exactly how I make toddies. Redbreast 12, Laphroaig 10, Glenfarclas 105, Glengoyne, or even Wild Turkey Rare Breed cask-strength whiskies are used, depending on who I'm drinking with. Laphroaig is the one for me, and every whisky they make is my favorite of its respective age and style, with the Quarter Cask being my all time favorite whisky. Hell, it's my all time favorite spirit of any kind.
If nothing else, you picked a damn fine scotch for it. Glenfarclas 105 is one of my favorites. Also, goddamn those slow-mo shots in the dark were impressive.
Greg, You guys did an amazing job with this. This has always been a cocktail that I wanted to make, Because I like fire. My hats off to you and your crew. Great Job!!!!
When a wild-eyed, eight-foot tall maniac grabs your neck and taps the back of your favorite head against the wall, looks you crooked in the eye and asks if you paid your dues...
This entire episode was excellent. And AMAZING camera work, just, freaking, gorgeous. You getting the pours to go so cleanly and the camera crew (person?) getting all those beautiful shots; I was slack-jawed. Really impressive vid; thanks for taking the risk and making it!
My high school's mascot is a blue blaze... I know weird,. But the origin is from the thirteen colonies in Maine. They would mark the tallest pine trees with a blue marking (blaze) also called the "Kings Mark" and those trees were cut and used for masts on the Royal Navy ships. Not sure if it has anything to do with the drink but its an interesting bit of history.
@@howtodrink I went to life and life says if you're gonna be an idiot, the bigger the better. Holiday wishes P. S. Your crew is happy it wasn't Michael Bay's Film School, this episode would have had too many fires and some explosions.
4:00 Fully expecting to see a cut to the outside of the set, watching it burn down around the bar. Edit: Added one of those fancy dot things that goes on the end of sentences
I replayed that frontier gibberish just to cackle at it an embarrassing number of times. Also, good God I am such a firebug. The dark shots of you slinging fire around were absolutely mesmerizing. Fantastic work
Whoa...just found this today and I HAD to try this...Freaking Tasty and I impressed my daughter, her friend and a bunch of other friends too!!! THANK YOU!!
had these ordered at "Drink" in Boston a while back. So showy but the drink wasn't half of the spectacle. Thanks so much for doing this one. I've always been fascinated by this one.
You know when people will make this. New Years Eve, because it's the only night people are more drunk than at christmas. (Well, maybe St. Paddys day also, but who cares about the irish ^^ )
