RCs are really powerful and have great initials. Considering RC8 is twin cylinder, the initials pickup is really qucik and feels very powerful. Also, KTM bikes are relatively lighter, thus having higher power to weight ratio.

RC8 was not equipped with ABS(as far as I know) and KTM made this intentionally. I think that is the key reason.

It's acceleration is brutal but it doesn't have abs that's one of the main reason not launching it again

less horsepower does not mean its less powerful than the competition , rc8r acc. to a motorcycle magzine stated it produces 180hp with the total wet weight of just 180kgs i.e. 1:1 hp to weight ratio , which for a superbike itself is very dangerous , ktm discontinued it because it got no updates later on well it was launched way back in 1999-2000 i guess. In 2015 acc. to the competition and international laws this bike just wouldn't stand , not because it might feel underpowered , but because of lack of electronics and other stuff which aids riders of newer gen to climb more speeds , it would be very risky and hard to control rc8r because it is a raw machine. I guess this is why it got discontinued.

KTM should launch a 4 cylinder 1290cc varient of its RC series bike which will compete with other liter class superbikes like Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR , Yamaha R1M , Suzuki GSX R-1000R , Honda CBR 1000 RR-R Fireblade SP , BMW S-1000RR , Aprilia RSV4 Factory , Ducati Panigale V4S , MV Augusta F4R .

When you asked that they should release this bike or not, my answer should be yes but also no because as you said it's too Powerful and will a threat to roads it's true and they should be giving to the riders who ride it responsibly who are socially conscious but that can be done by a driving test even if they had a license it's more important to test it out than just blindly selling them for money because it also has KTM's reputation.
