Its sad that they cant even leave and just go on with life because governments like these will kill as many people as possible so nobody will leave. The Tiananmen Massacre in China is a good example that this is a understatement... its a big prison with a life sentence for civilians with the possibility to die way faster than average: Poverty / Starvation , Labor camps etc.
i did hear from interviews of some north koreans that they tend to keep their loved ones (friends, family, etc..) very close and they spend a lot of time together. i truly hope that wasn’t his first time smiling :(
I remember meeting a North Korean young man at a Korean supermarket once. He told me that his biggest shock was seeing his South Korean boss being similar to him, and that people outside were kind and nothing like what he had been told in school. That man risked his life to make it to safety.
@@MuhammadRaihan269Some of the section of the border even the border with South Korea is a river and is 3km away or so at the closest point. Many have fled by boat to South Korea or Japan though some had to go through China another dictatorship
Otis Lm I mean it makes sense from a basic standpoint, it just means resources to produce those items also comes from inside the country. “We’re North Korea and we ran out of mineable gold, which we could easily trade with another country for? Guess we’ll just stop making items with gold then because we don’t want to trade with too many countries.”
@@BuckBlaziken it's not that they don't want to trade with other countries. Most other countries are blocked from trading with them because if they do they face relentless repercussions from the United States, which is objectively by far a more valuable trade partner to have, and even risk falling into the same boat if they defy American imposed international law. Which I don't at all disagree with; North Korea doesn't even deserve the right to exist let alone trade with other countries.
Wow when I was younger I thought the reason why North Korea isn’t really told and shown and ect was because North Korea doesn’t really have anything popular like I thought it was just like any other country (being a good place to go) but then until me and my parents were watching a documentary about North Korea on TV and my parents told me a lot about North Korea and I also learned it from the documentary. So now I know how life in North Korea is and it’s so depressing.
No one was here Unfortunately most North Koreans are so brainwashed they think they're living in a paradise, but I'd think you'd be accurate because he actually spoke a word of English, despite North Koreans having almost no exposure to the outside world.
@@slavenrasic2204 Read your comments. "Probably" Yes, probably he is a tour guide, probably he is not. So, in a 50/50 percent chance that person is an idiot, but I can guarantee you... You are 100% stupid.
He was nervous. His smile was a nervous smile. His shoulders were tense. Every muscle in his face was tense. He was trying to hide how terrified he really was.
@@glaceondiamond3754 and in one of them just bring a fucking bomb lmao (For legal reasons this comment is just a joke, please dont raid my home my family did nothing wrong)
Maybe he won't maybe he will ;-;I think internet is banned too or its only for the riches so there's a chance they didn't know about this video :-: hopefully
He wouldn't be allowed back because before you go to North Korea they research you to see if you've ever said bad stuff about their country, if you have then you can't go
freedom is something that cannot be taken from a people, it can be contained but never taken forever, one day the people there can get rid of this great prison and one day see this comment
I think the soldiers just like to see some thing from the outside world, remember Germany uniting in 1989 peacefully without gunshots, even the military knew it was coming to an end, but for Korea there is a big mountain range between them instead of a wall, PRAY for North Korea 🇰🇵🕊♥️🙏🙏🧎🧎♀️🕊
I can’t imagine what it’s like being one of the soldiers and you made almost made me cry but how did you get out did you just get out or like you risk your life going there 😭😭😭😭😭😭
it's self-serving. the government officials want power for themselves and not for the people, so to keep the people from being empowered, they empower themselves by controlling the people. so instead of serving the people like they should, the government try to control the people and keep them under strict ruling.
Western free society is still relatively new in history, much of the world was run this way until the Constitution of the United States was put into law, before then, governments did NOT serve the people giving them inalienable rights, people were more like subjects than citizens
1:59 Due to the fact that power outages are so common, it is actually considered higher status to live on the bottom floor in Pyongyang. That way you don't have to run all the way up and down the stairs since the elevators will not be running at times. Basically the complete opposite to the rest of the world where the top floors are usually the most sought after. If you live on the top floor of a 10+ story building in North Korea, you're getting a pretty big exercise daily.
As a South Korean who can't go to North Korea, I was really surprised about how sad that country actually is. I am really looking forward to being unified cuz why not. No Missiles, No Tanks, this couldn't be any better.
Eli Dormio he might have not understood it, but it looks like he was happy to see someone that seemed positive or (somewhat) happy, they probably don’t get a lot of people filming vlogs, I could be wrong though
@@tanjirokamado7331 Considering the beef between north and south Korea, i highly doubt they would apreciate it, even more so considering most north koreans barely even know about Michael Jackson or Madonna, they can't risk making the south look better
He went to South Korea. The opposite of North Korea and UNDEPRESSING COUNTRY. People protest there, they didn’t use weapons but Candles, awesome technology..
No shortwave radios or radios imported from China, BTW, radios in North Korea are must be strictly modified to DPRK GOVERNMENT FREQUENCIES as well as side tsble built with North Korean only radio receiving stations. Radios in North Korea never turned off that Government gave it to their citizens.
