When players stand still in front of a ballhandler with their hands down, they’re trying to take a charge by letting the offensive player run into them. It’s a very common tactic so the offensive player has to make sure they’re not just barreling towards the basket out of control.

I think you need to grow up playing a sport competitively to really appreciate it. If basketball was more popular in the UK and Daz and Mike grew up playing, they'd probably like it more than soccer/football. The only reason I don't like hockey is because I never really played it. It's a great sport, but I can't get into it.

There’s been a couple serious nba fights/altercations this year that could’ve gotten ugly but NBA is so paranoid about another Malice Palace situation. I forgot which game this year but a fight erupted and security rushed out between fans n court announcer kept saying if you leave your seat you will go to jail non stop for like 5 mins straight lmao.

That Memphis Grizzlies player, Dillon Brooks, ended up talking even more trash to LeBron James during their playoff series a few weeks ago. To be fair to American athletes there are memorabilia dealers that use children to ask for autographs then sell them for large profit. So I don't entirely blame Russel Westbrick for not wanting to sign the kid's stuff. Having said that, I'm glad he's not a Lakers anymore and that locker room vampire is off my team. lol

Lol this video you all are reacting to is leaving out relevant context that makes these moments not so “disrespectful”. The second one, the guy who got dunked on took an offensive foul and got possession of the ball by doing that. He made a good play and the dunk doesn’t count. The third one, Russ didn’t sign the jersey for the kid because parents constantly use their kids to get signatures of players to then flip on ebay. Weird video for acting like it was something they know it isn’t.

Dave was right about 3:09 ... the defender was trying to place himself to get a charge. But the defender didn't have his feet planted in time. That Gianis clip was only part of the whole incident too... a player from the other team got involved and took the ball from Giannis and told him to leave.

So for dunks that little circle under the basket is the restricted area, if a defender sets up without moving outside that circle and the offensive player charges into him trying to dunk or lay it up then its a charge (offensive foul) if the defender is inside that cirlce its usually a block (defensive foul)

3:24 The defender did try to draw a foul. It is called "charging foul". This is when the defender properly guesses the ball handlers path and gets in the way and sets his feet before the ball handler eventually bumps into them. If this is not done right (i.e. the defender is moving or too late to get there, or feet are in the restricted area) then it is blocking foul. So in summation if "charging foul" is not done properly it can turn into blocking foul"

The ladder incident was after a game, in Philly after Giannis had a terrible performance. People were trying to do their jobs and go home. Giannis wanted to practice on an opposing team's court. It was he who was disrespecting the local stadium workers.
