I’m releasing this video a month late, after the summer drought is gone, and all hurricane Ian’s rains and storms with its flooding have passed and saturated the soil bringing abundance of growth and fruit, but I think it’s good to know which plants tolerate both drought and rains well. In this short “drought tour” I’m showing plants that, despite months of drought and South Florida insanely hot summer, have persevered and fruited in my garden.

Yes, I have same issue here in Englewood fl west coast. No rain, hardly ever. Since Dec 22, till now Feb 23 only two rains at 1/8" inch. Very dry drought like conditions

Thanks for sharing all this incredible knowledge and wisdom, we really appreciate it, we are thinking to move to south Florida next year and so this is an inspiration to us as we plan to cultivate a garden too. We are going to be visiting South Florida in a month, we would love to come and visit you and your garden and maybe join in a meditation session if we are welcome. Thanks again.

It's my understanding that citrus, including kumquats normally do not grow true to seed.

Some citrus grow true from seed. You can find this info online. Kumquat will come true if it doesn’t cross pollinate with other citrus.

You live in north miami beach and no rain? I live in the next county north of you and I always get a ton of rain. weird.

Yes it is very weird. We are in this pocket of microclimate that has historically received less rain but this year was unbearable for the plants. Our mangos have been tastier than anywhere else due to the dryness during the fruiting season. But no rains in summer heat just stressed all the trees this year. They have finally started to flush after two big rains in September. But today is Nov 2nd and there were only 2 nice rains since Ian in September.

I looked trichoderma up. Do you just put it on the ground around your trees or do you actually spray the trees, leaves and all?
@growpuravida
@growpuravida Год назад
You take a spray bottle and dilute a small amount of spores in water and spray the foliage before bloom. It will help with flower fungus.

Do you have any fungal treatment and preventative care for your fruiting trees? Seems like I battle with a lot of diseases and I’m at a loss what to do.

I spray trichoderma before the beginning of wet season
