Hi All, I’m Gabi - Honey’s sister for all of you wondering why she wasn’t strapped in this was filmed 11 years ago. my mum was irresponsible but were no such thing as dog car seatbelts in easily accessible available at the time, it was legal back then for dogs to sit on ur lap while driving as well. She also learned how to open the window from the inside. Obviously we now strap her in and she is a happy old lady (turning 13) who acts like a puppy and still hates cats

My sister is a Paramedic. One of the most horrible situations she sees involves unsecured pets after car accidents. One accident in particular hurt her because our family has a soft spot for Chihuahuas. A retired couple were traveling with their pair of Chihuahuas and were involved in an accident on the Interstate. The car was badly damaged but since the couple were wearing their seat belts they were only mildly damaged. Their poor pups on the other hand were ejected from the car and fatally injured. SECURE YOUR PETS!!!!!! A harness that tethers them to a seat belt. A pet carrier that is strapped in. Anything to protect your pet while traveling. Even when traveling the 5 miles to the vet our cats are secured in a pet carrier which is in turn seat belted in the car. When our dogs were alive they wore harnesses that were anchored with a seat belt. Its safer for you and its safer for them. If you are truly a loving and caring pet owner you will protect them. The only thing that tears her up worse than unsecured pets are unsecured children. There are just too many careless or thoughtless people out there
@teddycuda
@teddycuda 3 года назад
I always ALWAYS secure my cat carriers. ALSO! I have my name and an alternate phone number on the carriers. If I'm injured or worse they don't need to call me, but someone else. I'm crazy...but I also tape notes on each carrier to note the cat that was in it so they know to look if the carrier is broken and my cat escaped. If I ever travel with them again I will laminate photos and put those on.

Those Korean rescues are so dishearteningly sad. I am so happy for Jack and thank you to the family who adopted him. If anyone knows, please let me know.
@yjh7684
@yjh7684 3 года назад
Unfortunately, it hasn't been but as a Chinese American who has visited China, I can say for sure that basically everyone is against eating dogs or cats because they are important pets and family members to many Asian people. Things like these are of a really small scale but it still exists. If it's any consolation, things like these are being phased out of practice as the people (usually older people who have gone through times where eating dogs was necessary for survival but now eat just because of tradition*) die due to old age. Setting up laws against this just isn't viable because it is small and usually occurs in rural areas where reinforcement is basically impossible. *Not the best word to describe why it occurs.

The most to be concerned with is more of the exotic wet markets in Wuhan than anything and, while some parts of Korea I believe haven't stopped, I can assure Japan largely is revolted by that. They have had feline trian conductors for ages who have wonderful lives and we don't kill for meat of pets. I don't speak for all of East Asian cultures but I know this deeply.
@IngridduPreez
@IngridduPreez 3 года назад
@@yjh7684 I am sorry. But eating dogs is by far not on a small scale yet. I've lived in South Korea for 20 years, and dog meat is still eaten here on almost the same scale as before, the same as in China (I know this by following what's going on there in this regard, too). There are unfortunately very strong (albeit mythological) beliefs attached to eating dog meat, that drive both Koreans and the Chinese, etc., to keep on eating dog meat. Yes. Some people have stopped eating it. But. It really needs to be FULLY stopped, especially due to the fact that dogs get BRUTALLY TORTURED TO DEATH. The belief is, that the fear and excruciating pain, boost the 'power' of the meat. 😥😥😥😖😖😖😡😡😡

I completely understand the struggle of Melissa. I would go through the same struggle to save my cats as I would to save my siblings. If my house was burning down I wouldn’t leave until I knew that both were out of the house, I would do that with my siblings too. I’ve done that with my sister once, too, to a degree. I do genuinely respect Melissa there. A full grown man human could get horribly injured or killed by an 80kg dog. Melissa must have came in at the right time. When Alex and her were on the phone I was almost about to cry. But as a pet owner, I would rather lose a finger than lose my pet. Both are terrible. Also, with my late cat I noticed it’s like a motherly sensation you feel for your pets. At least for me anyway. Willing to go out of your way to get injured just to prevent your pet from even a minor injury. Mad respect.

I think some of the Korean dogs already understand that they are safe now, or at least dare to hope that they are. I'm sobbing. They are so precious and beautiful, and they come from such a horrible existence. If I could have adopted a couple of them (so they'd have a friend with them to their new life) I'd spoil them rotten with love, affection, walks, treats and quality food all day long for the rest of their lives. Dogs bring us so much comfort, and we really forget that they get stressed as well. I had to be reminded of that during the clip of the rescue dogs from Korea. Knowing that I can't function right now without my dog, I need to take the time to reassure him as well, that everything will be alright, because he has feelings as well.

The neighbor's cat that terrorizes their dog....reminded me of a memory. Back in 1983/84, we had 6 dogs and several cats when we lived out in the country. Several stray cats and the neighbor's cats loved coming around too. (Spaying/neutering wasn't a thing back then in the small town area we were living.) Anyway, 5 of the dogs always got along with all of the cats & they would just play and play and play, but the 6th one hated cats with everything it had. My mom and step dad kept him away from all the other dogs, too, because he didn't always like the other dogs, as well. Well, the momma cat knew just where to stop in order to drive that dog crazy. We would see her saunter over to the dog and sit just out of reach of his loooong chain. All of a sudden we would see this gray blur run out of his doghouse and bark, snarl, cough & gag his way trying to reach her, but she just sat there bathing herself and looking up at him every so often. Then one time, the funniest and shocking thing happened...He turned around and tried to reach her with his back legs. Didn't work. Pretty soon, she was done and walked off and he would get back inside out of the heat or cold and she would repeat this process several times during the remainder of the day. It was hilarious! She was a very smart sweet girl and he was a dumbbell who fell for it EVERY TIME. Yet, he loved the 4 of us. This was 38 years ago & it still feels like it happened yesterday. I miss taking ALL those furbabies for walks, playtime, cuddles, in the house, etc. (We would, once in awhile take the neighbor's cats inside, too & when they were ready, they would stand at the door and meow and we would let them out. The neighbors (elder couple) did that as well with some of ours. Our one neighbor lived directly across from us & the others lived across the river, which was a little bit away from us.) I have been sitting here in tears of what these "babies" are going through and I am not even through the entire video yet. Poor babies & the pain they dealt with!

I am a South Korean who was raised in the United States. I have been aware of dog-eating since a young age since all of the white kids in my class would ask me if I eat dog. One of the biggest memories I have of my childhood is when I was in third grade and my dog passed away. I told the class about what had happened over the weekend and they all began to tease me saying that I ate my dog. There are many people saying that they don't stand for this type of culture or that it's disgusting and horrific, and I understand where they are coming from. It is heartbreaking to see animals of any sort being treated terribly and raised for slaughter, but I would also like to remind people that this doesn't give people an excuse to berate others based off of where they come from or what cultures they may come from. I am not comfortable with raising dogs for meat, same goes for cats, rats, and other domesticated animals. But it does not make someone less than you if you do not agree with their cultures. Obviously this is a terrible reality in which our dogs and cats in America are considered as consumable meat in other countries or places, but it isn't our job to degrade another culture based on what they do to put food on the table. I am grateful to be in a country where this practice is frowned upon and more-over considered taboo, but so embarrassed by the disgusting comments by others who share the same beliefs as me by absolutely degrading another country based on the 16% of South Korea's population who actually indulges in dog meat. I just wish people could respectfully disagree and learn more about the waning dog meat consumption before making hurtful assumptions that just make it harder for Asians in this time of Asian Hate and Crimes Against Asians.

My heart broke when that dog from Korea was so traumatized by what those people did to it and others that it hid it’s head. Awful, so awful. I will never understand it when the majority of the world has dogs as pets in their homes and don’t eat them. 😢🤷🏼‍♀️ I absolutely love this series!!🥰🥰💗💗

I've been donating, signing petitions etc., for over five decades on the premise this torture and cruelty is ending, it should never ever have existed and needs to end now, any culture embracing torture needs to rethink things! Animals are sentient beings and every human needs to be kind, so I hope and pray the so called most intelligent species mankind sets an example by just being KIND! To all helping these dogs a big thank you!

Hmmmmm...the U.S. really is no different....we just choose less attractive animals to torture, most of the time. We still have dog fighting and puppy mills and kitten mills. The way we treat our food animals is no different..NO DIFFERENT than the way these dogs were treated...don't mean to sound like I'm blaming you.

I adore the amt of respect given to the Veterinarian's nurses! Do they attend a special school to become a nurse for animals, or is it on the job training? Here (in the U.S.) the "techs" as they'd call them, are simply "helpers" that get paid a mediocre wage and have no "specialized" training. I would love this job, which of course brings sad endings as well as the wonderful ones, and the wonderful ones are worth every bit of time and effort, so are the older dogs, it was a sad sad day for me when my Retriever/Shepard mix had to cross that bridge, but she was a large girl, larger dogs usually it seems have a shorter life span, but she - was 19 years old!! So my selfish heart was sad, but joyful as well that my life had been enriched by this joyful girl for so so long!! She was a rescue dog, it took her about a year to find out a loud "laugh" was just that, a LAUGH, she feared any loud noise, and in our home - nobody believes in raising their voice to animal or to each other. After she overcame that fear, she felt she was a guardian of the baby (she loved to pull the Pram), we were all so blessed. God bless all of you, AND YOUR NURSES!!!

Having gotten between my senior lhasa apso (rip Bento) and a thirty pound rottweiler, I absolutely sympathize with the little puppy's owner-- in my case the other dog's owner was right near by and helped me pull them apart, and no one was hurt, but it could have easily been a lot worse, and I'd gladly have lost a finger/hand to protect my dear old man.

I just straight up cried at the Korean dogs...I'm a volunteer at the RSPCA in QLD and it's absolutely astounding how dogs that have been in these terrible situations can come out on top. I've met countless fight and bait dogs, covered in scars but are the cuddliest things I've met. It's great to know they can be saved but so awful to think about what they've been though, more than most people.

I would hope that those within the comments being confronted by the horrific reality of the dog meat trade industry would have the same moral outlook/standpoint in relation to other animals in similar prisons. Similarly intelligent creatures such as pigs, cows, and chickens do not deserve torture, even if it is a natural process to consume them. We can do such in a humane way. Truly heartbreaking. May these souls recover in due time.
